I regularly get grease spots on tops (from butter/oily food/margarine spreads). What's the best way to get it out, Will it come out??

Rub washing up liquid into the stain before washing with bio detergent

bigtimefun · 19/01/2021 09:37

I can't wash with bio unfortunately I'm allergic to it so it has to be non bio ...

Try with the washing up liquid or bar soap or any sort of detergent that will get grease out.

GrimDamnFanjo · 19/01/2021 09:41

Washing up liquid should do the trick anyway.

As everyone has said, rub washing up liquid into stain - but then leave it overnight before washing

If the washing up liquid doesn’t work, there’s a spray you can get in Tesco (I can’t remember the name but I’ll have a look for it in a minute) that works well. I remember I bought a new top, immediately spilt grease on it, grease got baked in as DH threw it straight in the wash. The spray got it out, although I did have to do it a couple of times.

Talc on grease spot overnight then chuck in wash.

This is it.

Eucalyptus oil also works, although you'll have to wash the garment separately and then wash again in your main wash, otherwise it will all smell like a packet of Lockets!

I use this

I wash my clothes as normal (as often don't notice), then when I'm ironing or putting them away or even the morning I notice, I rub this on and rub off with a clothes brush.
