It told me I needed a 34C
I’m a 36A.

There was a thread on here at the time & I posted how there was no way I was 34C & was told there wasn’t much difference between them and I should try that size Confused
I bought a 34C and I couldn’t even take a full breath, even on the loosest fastening, and there was a huge amount of room in the cups. I could have fitted a Costa teacake in each cup and still have a gap!

If you're a size 10-12 you don't have a 36 inch chest. So if you're wearing 36 inch bras it's because the cups are too small. Does the centre part between your cups sit flat against your chest?

I'm a 14-16 and a 34g - my chest is actually quite broad and I'm 5'10'' but it's my boobs that are big, not my rib cage.

Girlintheframe · 18/01/2021 15:54

You would be surprised!
I'm 5 foot 5, size 10 and it told me I was a 30 DD.
I'd been wearing a 34 C/D.
I honestly thought no way would I fit a 30DD. Ordered some on line just to try and omg they fit perfectly!

lindyloo57 · 18/01/2021 17:26

Didn't work for me I always wear a 34 DD just got a new one it fits perfectly, I am 5 ft 2 size 10, I did try the the size it said 30 f or g, I couldn't do it up, a 32 f was OK but it comes to far up under the arm pit, it rubs, I could only for half a day, I had to take it off so tight.

dementedpixie · 18/01/2021 17:30

I'm a size 20/22 and wear a 36 back.
If you scoop all the breast tissue in from the sides how much overspill do you get? Does the centre of your bra fit flush against your body between your breasts?

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 18/01/2021 17:42

I used to think l was a 36B. The calculator told me l'm a 32 FF. I thought there is NO way I'm a 32FF. I tried a 32FF bra on. I'm a 32FF.

We have been conditioned to think that our boobs are enormous if they are bigger than a C cup but it all depends on the band size and the difference between them.

Try a bra before you decide.

Knittingnanny · 18/01/2021 17:48

I tried this method of measuring and it didn’t work for me. I wear 36 D some makes DD but when I did the measure it said 32 G.
32 and 34 bras nearly make me expire through lack of ability to breath

FlingingFlangingHardToOpen · 18/01/2021 17:54

Didn’t work for me either. I was wearing 46C (always had a big rib cage but I’m also fat) and it told me to wear 40JJ which was comically ill fitting. Eventually settled in the middle at a 42F, which is still not quite right as it’s too uncomfortable to wear for a full day.

gooseygooseywanderingfree · 18/01/2021 18:20

@Hm2020 I think if you went to a decent shop to get measured (not M&S) you'd come out as the 32F. I wore 34b for years. I'm a 32D. There are so many women out there wearing the wrong size because they've never been measured properly. I advise anyone, once we are allowed back to the shops, to go and get measured and to try on some bras with the bra fitter present to advise!

Elieza · 18/01/2021 18:34

Mmmm, costa tea cake...! Grin

I may have gotten detailed there. Oops.

I’ve found that at first the tighter band they say I need digs in but then it stretches and is usually ok.

KatharinaRosalie · 18/01/2021 20:19

it's surprisingly easy to wear a bra a couple of sizes too small. Give the F a try.

warriorwomanx · 18/01/2021 20:22

Mine came out as 32G. My boobs don't look that big to me! I'm currently wearing a 34D/DD although some of my bras are too small in that size. I've assumed I measured wrong even though I did it 3 times Confused

sadsaddersaddest · 18/01/2021 21:00

I am a size 10 and need a 32 back - and that's because I have a very large frame with a big ribcage.

SpeckledyHen · 18/01/2021 21:02

I went into Rigby & Peller wearing 36C and left wearing 34G on the tightest hooks . I measured myself using Boob or Bust afterwards and that was also the same .

TheChosenTwo · 18/01/2021 21:29

I find that website laughable. I used it to get a measurement and it gave me something that was ludicrously wrong. It doesn’t take into account any variation in breast shape or fullness - when I lean over my poor saggy tits could hit the floor but there’s fuck all substance to them - nothing to actually fill the cup sizes it recommended.
Not for me.

Hm2020 · 19/01/2021 05:15

Thanks everyone really good to know everyone’s experiences decided I’m going to give it a few weeks because I’m on a diet and have allready lost a bit of weight so will measure again. Will have to forget them lovely bras in my basket for the minute

But if you’re trying to fasten it using the innermost hooks, you’re doing it wrong. You start at the outermost ones. The bra will stretch with time and when it does, you move in a set. When you’ve got to the innermost ones it’s nearly time to shop for a new bra.
