Cheaper version of Dyson Air Wrap?

I saw videos of this and think it looks bloody amazing but absolutely baulked at the price tag! Sweet Jesus that thing is spendy.

Is there a version that does the job just as good that won't be more than my mortgage?

Following with interest. I really bloody hope so.

this looks similar but I can't vouch for it

the babyliss air styler is meant to be good as well

when lockdown fucks off I would have a look in primark, they do a nice line in decent knock offs of popular things, I know they do a teeny weeny Dyson-sized hairdryer at £12 that I'm seriously coveting a try of.

If your on instagram @doesmybumlook40 does a review and video of the Babyliss one if you look back at posts. I haven’t tried it.

SIL has the Dyson one and really rates it.

I have one and love it. I had a Babyliss big hair before, which I loved, but this is better.

I justified it as I have spent no money on anything fun since lockdown. I bought it straight from Dyson. 12 months interest free credit, so I'm paying £37 a month for it. I can definitely afford that now that I'm not buying any clothes, spending money on lunch out etc.....

I think they also have a 28 day no quibble money back guarantee if you don't like it.

I bought this one recently after reading loads of recommendations online. Bought it from Amazon bits it's available in loads of places. I'm delighted with it very easy to use and gives a salon blowdry

@BeTheHokeyMan that one sounds very much like the Babyliss big hair which I have and is fab for a blow dry effect with volume.

But Babyliss now also do a curl one which creates curls similar to the Dyson Air Wrap but much cheaper.

I have the big hair and the air wrap
I loved the big hair but now find I hardly use it and only use the air wrap

KatharinaRosalie · 21/01/2021 07:54

I haven't seen any on the market. BBH and copies are not the same, as they the brush tugs your hair and the airflow blows hair outwards, instead of pulling it in like Dyson.
I loved my rotating hot air brushes, had several also for gym bag and travelling. But I haven't even touched them since I got the Dyson - hairstyles are sleek and not fluffy, and my hair is in so much better condition as there is no brush tugging and breaking it.

This is the only dupe I've seen donehair.com (sorry posting from phone)

It has good reviews as well there's a few videos on Instagram however I believe the whole point of the air wrap is the flow/heat of the air. This dupe will likely still get quite hot.

The babyliss air styler is good for blow drying and the smoothie brush but the curling cone is useless. It doesn’t curl or wave at all.
My hair is fine and difficult to curl. It curls with the air wrap but like you I wanted something cheaper. Got the air styler and use it most days for the blow drying round brush but if I had brought it for the curler I would have been bitterly disappointed. Even the instagrammer reviews they only achieve a light wave with it. Not a bouncy curl that can be brushed out for waves.

Agree with this I've got the Babyliss one too but tbh I use an auto curler so I wasn't that fussed on the wand, the round brush/smoothing one is great so it now just makes me want the dyson more 🙄
