Dermatica retinol

Hi, I've recently started a dermatica prescription that's working well - tretinoin plus niacinamide and an antibiotic. I'm going to keep going to the 3 month prescription but wondered if 'over the counter' retinols worked as well as the tret? Has anyone used both and could give some advice?

In short no they don’t from everything I’ve read , google the difference between otc and prescription as I can’t remember the exact science behind it but it’s something like retinols are a weaker derivative . Some better than others granted but it’s hard to know what you are getting otc as they don’t always state the retinol content .

Dermatica is the best for your money I would say . If you go abroad at all or any of your friends etc do when travel starts again you can also pick up tret in pharmacies over in a lot of European countries without a script and it’s about 5 euros a tube

I tried the online pharmacy tret which is the same strength I’m on now with Dermatica. I had little to no results and I used it for about a year. Because I have a formulation from Dermatica it addresses all my concerns, so I use less products, and I’ve seen a huge improvement since March. I guess it just depends on your personal experience but it’s definitely worth it for me

Thanks both, I'll keep going with the dermatica which is really making a difference. Just wondered if there was something else I should be considering but will stick with what I have and the convenience of the monthly deliveries.
