hair straighteners

Which do you recommend?
I have always been really happy with my Remington brand, but I recently bought a new one and it's not as good. I have to grip REALLY hard to get the hair straight, and go over the same bits about 3 times.

I have long thick wavy hair so I've always gone for the wide plate versions.
I'm happy to splash out £££ if people think the expensive ones are worth it.

Thank you.

I bought the GHD wide plated ones a month ago or so and I love them. My hair is really thick, frizzy and wavy and always looks like I've been dragged through a hedge unless I style it. They smooth it and it took me 10-15 minutes to do my hair whereas normal straighteners took me 40 mins minimum. I really recommend them

I have thick frizzy hair and mine are GHD’s. Not the wide plates however (wish I had gone for those!) but still get good results.

I have a lot of hair and it's a bit frizzy/fluffy. I have the original size GHD and have found them great.

I have Cloud 9 wide plates. They are 10 years old now but so worth it.

I think a good hairdryer makes a difference to how well your hair straightens too. I have a Dyson and a Parlux and recommend both.

I got some £££ Cloud 9 straighteners for my birthday last year.

I use straighteners mostly to curl and the Cloud 9s don't clamp/grip the hair properly and the hair falls out before I reach the bottom of the shaft.

My £17 Remington straighteners from Argos do a much better job so I use them instead 🤷.

I've had my GHDs for almost ten years and they're still going strong. They're worth the money for their longevity

I bought the original cloud 9 after always having ghd.
I love them, wouldn't go back to GHDs now.
I have fine but frizzy hair. If I straighten with cloud 9 my hair stays straight and shiny until it's next wash (about once a week)

I use kipozi wide plates after being advised to buy them on here, very happy with them. I had ghd before.

I usually wash my hair at night, let it dry naturally over night, then straighten it in the morning.
How tightly do you have to squeeze the plates together on GHD's, Cloud 9's, Kipozi?
