Best hairbrush?

I need to replace my hairbrush - it’s so old the branding has faded so I’ve no idea what it is, not that I want the same one because I’m convinced there must be a better one.

I have thick, wavy hair that needs to be dried and straightened every other day - the waves are uneven and frizzy and need to be tamed!

What hairbrush do you use? How often are you supposed to replace them? Are cheap basis ones the same as expensive in terms of impact on your hair?

I use a tangle teaser wet brush. It seems to be the only tangle teaser with a handle. Its great for my fine, slightly curly hair.
Its less great on DS' super thick long hair, but not sure how much of that is teen boy laziness
