Hi all, I have a 5 month old baby and (as expected) haven't really given my appearance much thought since giving birth.

I'm ashamed to admit that I'm still wearing some maternity clothes despite being almost back to my pre baby weight. I usually wear leggings and a rotation of the same 3 jumpers and grubby trainers, I used to be into fashion and style but now have no idea what I like and where to start. I dont know what shops to look at, i would like some better quality clothes than my usual old New Look. I'm in my late 20s, average height and weight, and am I need of some easy to out put together outfits that make me feel more like me again! Obviously it's hard to make suggestions when you don't know me but any suggestions or sources of inspiration or even nice brands to look at would be great. Thank you x

I’m afraid I don’t have any suggestions as I’m in exactly the same situation, so I’ll place mark here. Almost every detail from your post is the same as my life. Help!

Hi @nells3 I could have written your post myself after both of my DC (now aged 2 and 5!) so completely sympathise. One thing I really didn't realise after having children was that clothes which were nice before and helped me feel put together e.g. wool coat, nice boots and a bag weren't really that practical with kids as standing in the park you need something a bit warmer and mud proof!
There are lots of online style advisors you could take a look at or my suggestion would be to put together a Pinterest board of styles you like as pretty quickly your what you like will come out. In terms of buying nicer things I found my shape changed massively in the first year (still shifting the baby weight after DD 2 years on if I'm honest) so maybe start slowly and build up your new wardrobe over time or look on DePop or similar for items- I wear Topshop Jamie jeans and buy them pristine for under £20 as I know I will trash the knees crawling round after the kids.
