Primer?

I have put a lot of effort into sorting my skincare routine and am happy with it now. There is a lot of layering of products and I finish with a moisturiser and then an SPF every day. I then want to do my makeup and tend to just go for concealer then finishing powder (I don't use foundation).
However, I have several primers that have come in calendars/ beauty boxes and was wondering if I should add them in. What do they really add? Do they go on after my SPF?
I'm really an up and out in 20 minutes sort of person (I'm a primary school teacher so always in a hurry) and don't really have time to let products sink in before putting on the next.

There isn’t much point using a Primer if you aren’t putting on Foundation. Its meant to smooth the skin and help the foundation stay on.

I think this really depends on the primer. I don't wear foundation unless I'm on a night out but I often wear an illuminating primer on its own (current favourites are The Illuminator by Estée Lauder or Blossom Colours Glow multi-tasking primer) and it makes my skin look dewy and more youthful.

Do you put it on after moisturiser and SPF or instead of?

Do you mean primer instead of moisturiser and SPF? Please don't skip the SPF whatever you do. The protection given by primers and foundations with SPF are so ineffective as you can't possibly use the amount needed to offer proper protection. Always use a separate SPF.

Try the primers if you want to. Add them to your routine before you put make up on.

I tried putting my makeup on without a primer yesterday, it was awful!
I put in on, brush my teeth and then put on my makeup.

The Illuminator by Estée Lauder

You're about the 5th person I've seen recommend this. Pay day treat I think 😃.
