This skirt with these boots?

I have ordered this midi skirt and have a pair of Chelsea boots to go with, will this go with thick tights?
I am trousers and knitwear Monday to Thursday at work and Fridays is normally jeans and jumper but trying to get out on the Friday rut!
I have just turned 50 but do look a good few years younger.

It was from Warehouse in the sale, but I don’t think they had many sizes left. I have ordered the 12 and 14…

I'd go for a hiking boot or chelsea boots that fit fairly close on the ankle.

I personally think that ankle boots with skirts look frumpy, on people of any age. It's not a look I like or get at all but I know it's very popular. I just don't think it's stylish.

I have those boots too and I think they look better casually styled. The trend now is for much chunkier ankle boots and skirts or midi dresses. I like the boots as they are classic but better styled as M&S have in the pix. Heeled long boots with a fitted skirt look better in my view if you are a bit older (not in your 20s).

I wear black socks with my chelsea boots when I'm wearing a dress, and pull them down to give a wrinked effect, that deals with the leg/boot gap.

That’s a good idea. I think I will need socks with the tights anyway as the boots might be too loose otherwise.

I think unless you're 6 ft tall and very slim with a normally more edgy look, it'll look frumpy.

Those boots are so weird looking with the wide opening.

They are not so bad worn with jeans. They take socks or thicker tights. They are just not right with a skirt.

I had a look around and I have seen a patent pair of lace up boots, not too chunky that was £108 or this pair half price for £54 from a local shop.

Those are really nice. Not patent though.
