Super hard long lasting

Nail varnish...

I'm going to have to soak my gels off and I'm after a hard, long lasting polish. I have quite weak bendy nails even if they are quite short.

I know nothing will be as good as gels but something that lasts longer than a couple of days.

I have CND Vinyl polishes which are ok so maybe I need an awesome top coat instead?

Hopeful bump!

Normal polish never fully cures, paint cures rather than dries, so it always chips eventually.

Oh I know it will chip eventually but hoping for recommendations for a longer lasting one from people's experience :-)

I quite like the Rimmel 60 second varnish, but the key is to have a base coat, 2 layers of polish and a top coat...and don't touch anything for an hour or so to really leave your nails to set.

Essie Gel Couture is good. It's not actual gel, but it's definitely stronger than most polishes.

Cluckycluck · 16/01/2021 18:51

Essie tends to last best for me. Get a colour with a matching glitter then you can always just touch up the tips with glitter when it clips and it's the easier nail art ever.

If you can be bothered, and I usually can't, I'm told giving another coat of top coat every other day helps.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 17/01/2021 13:38

Any help, OP?

Essie Gel polishes with their gel top coat.

I was wondering the same thing (and also whether people have tips for soaking off uber glittery gels....)

Soak soak soak! I find glitter gel and polish sets like cement!

So I've rustled together from what I have an Essie base coat and varnish ( fifth Avenue) and a rimmel super gel top coat so let's see what happens

OP after I soaked off my shellac I found they looked way better with a good buffing and filing and a clear treatment and topcoat . They were still a bit weak and coloured polish was chipping too quickly (constant sanitizer not helping) and they looked awful. So they looked healthier and neater left bare.

AliceinBunniland · 18/01/2021 08:32

Seche vite top coat

They do coloured polish too I think
