Waxing - DIY at home

Pre pregnancy I would epilate my legs and armpits regularly and be nice and smooth

If I left it too long there would be too many hairs all at once and it was too painful so I would go to a salon and get waxed then continue at home. I have quite a lot of leg hair, lower and upper leg. Which I think is why it's more painful. Otherwise I have a high tolerance

I didn't do it at all in pregnancy, just shaved and now salons are shut...

Please will you share your tips for speedy and less painful hair removal?

I assume you don’t want to revert to shaving again until things start to revert to slightly more normal times.

Have you tried creams such as Veet? It is possible to use Veet and give the hairs a little “coaxing” with a razor at the same time.

Make sure you do the spot test first and if you opt for the razor combo, use a new blade.

Don't want to continue with the razor, I prefer the finish with wax/epilator.

I'm allergic to all Veet type creams unfortunately :-(

I think I'll just have to be brave one day and grit my teeth!

Stripless wax is much more comfortable

Although when I tried to wax my lady areas I had to stop half way through as it was hurting and I couldn't bring myself to rip the wax off Grin

@QuentinWinters - Just tell who ever sees it that the half and galf look is the latest trend! 😂

PlumDance · 15/01/2021 13:44

Oo thanks, I'll give that a go. Hopefully I won't get a half and half look too lol sounds painful!

I've used the pre waxed strip ones but it was was really cold day and the wax stuck to me. When I pulled the strip off, there strip came away but the wax stayed stuck to me, in the perfect rectangle 😂😂

I use these warmed up in a waxing pot for my bikini area, I've never done my legs before though. I was shocked at how easy and mess free it all was. It was pretty painless too, 2 co codamol, wait an hour or so then pull up the carpet before they wear off.
