Bra that minimises/eliminates back fat?

I have been getting my bras from Bravissimo for years and they have always checked they fit ok. But the one I like best and end up getting each time I replace the old ones is the one in the attached pic. It fits my boobs well and gives a nice shape but I have pockets of back fat which means I can’t wear anything too fitted. I am a 32 FF and about half a stone overweight. I seem to have developed more back and side boob fat as I’ve come out the other side of the menopause. Has anyone any recommendations for styles/makes of bra that might not emphasise this?

You’re a 34E mate

Oh would that sort it ? I’m not sure why the bravissimo fitters always put me in 32”

Go for a style with a longline band

LaurieFairyCake · 13/01/2021 22:11

Apparently you need to bend over and scoop all that excess into the cup

SCOOP - and yes once you get it all in there you're at least a cup bigger

Thanks for the advice. I’ll have a look to see if they do a long line one and scoop any side spillage out by leaning forward. It would help if I could go to the shop but am going to have to resign myself to online trial and error.

Would you consider a basque? They take a little getting used to and you need to “break them in”. After that it feels like somebody giving you a hug all day.

Size up on the band size.

I think it will provide your answer.

I have glamorise back support bras. They fasten at the front and look a bit like a sports bra from the back so not suitable for all clothing but I found it stopped the back fat and helped my back ache from the heavy boobs.

Herja · 14/01/2021 08:39

Longline bra! Stops the back fat, added support so less back ache.

Boob and bust / bravisimo style fitting caused me such bad rib pain I thought there was a genuine medical issue. Not red and digging in, just couldn't fully expand my ribs to the point it was very painful by the afternoon. I think they measure too tight.

Well the snow is looking grim out so I am going to investigate and look at your recommendations. I agree that bravissimo don’t seem happy unless they send you away feeling like you’re in the grip of a boa constrictor. It can’t be right for them to always be so bloody tight. Thanks all.

Bravissimo measured me as a 32 band & said it was the correct fit when I tried one on but it was really uncomfortably tight and gave me back boobs. Apparently you want it tight as over time it will loosen off.

No good though if it's too uncomfortable to wear as it will never loosen up so I went home & ordered the same bra in 34 back which was so much better.

Marshmallows. Im starting to think that when Bravissimo train their staff they are taught that everyone is 32” . Every night when I take my bra off I have a big red mark round my ribs. Anything that tight is going to bunch up any extra skin into back fat.

Agree with the poster who said bravissimo measure too tight. I had personal bra fitting from them and based on this bought 3 of their bras. All caused me discomfort and I had to give away the bras. Now I always buy from Bella Di Notte—if you call or chat line them for advice they will tell you the models that are best for side boob and back fat but previous poster is correct that you are probably 34E. Triumph amourette bras are very comfortable for generous breasts and look nice too.

Sheeshaz. Thanks for this. I’ll take a look at Bella di Notte and at the triumph amourette.
