Hoodie look but not a hoodie

I have a couple of old boden sweatshirts that have been warn to death. they have a big collar and look like a hoodie (with drawstrings) from the front but no actual hood.
I love them and can shove them on and put a coat on top and not faff about getting the hood right in the hood of the coat if you know what I mean. They are also easier to wear with scarves.
I also find hoodies leave me with tangles in my hair if their is too much bulk behind my head. With the coat hood on top, especially if I have to pull the coat hood up in the rain.

Anyway I can’t seem to find anything like this.
If someone has seen anything similar to what I am talking about could they point me in the right direction.

I'm about to use words probably never used on this board before, because it's the very opposite of style or beauty... But Mountain Warehouse fleece. Hmm

Right now I am sat here in one of their Hebridean cowl neck fleeces. Mine is pale blue which isn't on the website. Don't be put off by the way they have got the neck straight up in the main pictures, look at the close up one and you will see they kind of sag down in real life. Very light, very thin, very comfortable, very warm, as you can see from the close up pic there is a kind of tiny stripe to the material which makes them less... like a fleece.... And only £14.99 at the moment.www.mountainwarehouse.com/hebridean-womens-cowl-neck-fleece-p15116.aspx/

They also have a cowl neck style which looks a bit upright on the website but I am guessing may be more loose and relaxed in real life if the other one is. www.mountainwarehouse.com/idris-womens-cowl-neck-fleece-p14396.aspx/

this one looks about right, but not cheap.
You could try searching for 'cowl neck sweatshirt'?

PeaceLoveAndCandy · 13/01/2021 19:43

This kind of thing?

Thankyou. I just needed someone to help me with the right words to search. Funnel neck and cowl neck. That’s what I was after.

I am aware they aren’t the height of style but let’s face it it’s all about comfort at the moment!!!

I'm after a really nice hoodie dress if anyone has seen such a thing!

ShaunaTheSheep · 13/01/2021 20:03

Try Tu at Sainsbury's.

I just got one from Superdry in the sale. Very comfy and cosy, have been wearing it loads.

Nyancat · 14/01/2021 10:19

Can't find the same ones that I have from decathlon, but these are pretty good and very reasonable price

I find equestrian and sailing shops are good for hard wearing sweatshirts , I have a few , lazy jacks, musto , quba and crew are all a good thickness, wash well and last,

H&M have some - search sweatshirt dress.
Didyousaynutella · 14/01/2021 21:23

Yeah the fleeces etc are too technoc looking for me. I want to have that studenty look with out the hood. I do like that bramble one.
Also might get the Zara hoody dress. Even though it is a hoody I like that it’s long so can wear with leggings.

Ooh the next funnel neck one is good, just not sure about the colour options.

bellagogosdead · 15/01/2021 07:39

The next one looks nice, but it isn't proper sweatshirt material, more of a knitted viscose that gets used for pjs a lot.

JingleCatJingle · 15/01/2021 08:24

I have the grey decathlon cowl neck fleece. Very comfy!

BarryWhiteIsMyBrother · 15/01/2021 08:28

This has been on my wish list for so long so thank you for the thread OP.

spababe · 19/01/2021 18:25

Another vote for Lazy Jacks. They sometimes shrink slightly on the first wash so get a big size. They are also great for layering with a thin fleece (micro fleece) underneath.

CakeInMyFace · 19/01/2021 18:56

I have this in the charcoal and I love it. V expensive though, I got it as a Christmas gift as hubby got it when there was 25% discount.
