Best wavy day so far - just had to share :-)

Having always had more or less pin straight hair, pregnancy hormones somehow seemed to do something to my hair and I discovered I have 2a ish waves.

Been experimenting with modified cg method. Cowashing doesn't really work for me as my waves get weighed down and stretched out so easily. Today I washed with child's farm shampoo, followed with conditioner, plopped, promptly realised I forgot to add any stylers, unplopped, added a very small amount of boots curl cream, replopped for 5 mins and left to air dry.

My hair is probably another person's worst hair day but after plenty of disastrous days I just had to share my progress!

Looks great! My hair is similar but I always dry it straight. How do you plop?

Wavienewbie · 12/01/2021 11:12

Thanks Hollie. Not sure if you are familiar with the concept at all or if you meant what do I use specifically but you basically flip your head upside down and pile it onto a microfibre towel (which is what I use) or cotton tee then tie it up. I am crap at describing but there are like a million tutorials. Seriously it is a major rabbit hole once you start looking Grin

You look lovely OP! My hair is naturally curly (a frizzy mess) if only mine looked like this 😂

ParisJeTAime · 12/01/2021 11:23

Gorgeous op!

Hollybutnoivy · 12/01/2021 11:24

Ooh...my secret dream is that one day my poker straight hair will start to curl! You look lovely OP.

Wavienewbie · 12/01/2021 11:32

Holly it still looks straight if I brush it when wet. The sign for me, apart from the texture I got if I didn't have time to brush, was a major tendency to tangle, then when I paid attention in the shower I could see the waves when it was wet. You never know!

I would still love it to be wavier, or even properly curly. I LOVE curly hair but am adopting the mantra 'waves are not failed curls' and embracing the versatility.

Legitimacy I bet your hair is beautiful. I'm embracing what I have but I would LOVE properly curly hair!

Looks lovely Grin

Wavienewbie · 12/01/2021 15:18

Ah rats! Waves dropped loads so I ended up brushing it out (forgive me cg method adherents for I have sinned) was nice while it lasted though Grin

I keep thinking about this post, OP. I think my dd has slight waves so I will get her a bit of curl cream or curl enhancer and see what happens. :)

I think you look lovely. I'm wavy too and have recently been using Moroccan oil dry shampoo which boosts the fullness.
