Slippers aaargh

I need some slippers that give some support, won't fall apart in 6 months and don't look like an old granny's. I get quite cold feet too so normally go for boots, any suggestions please?

I wear josef siebel betsy clogs rather than slippers. They have arch support and proper thick soles as some of my floors are stone. Sublimely comfortable. Or you could try vionics.

Lands End sheepskin are lovely. Warm and support your feet. After years of buying the £4 ones that feel great for about 3 days I got some of these and have now bought everyone I know some!

kayakingmum · 10/01/2021 22:58

I love my Draper of Glastonbury slippers. 2 days in with my second pair. Got my first pair 3 years ago. Probably wore my old pair on average 10 hours a day for the 3 years.

I have felt Birkenstock mules, very comfy supportive and warm but they can be worn with a thick sock if you fancy a bit of geek chic

EmmaStone · 10/01/2021 23:19

Ugg boots for me - added bonus I can potter out to the garden in them too, and jump in the car to pick DC up. I've had mine for 4-5 years and still going strong. I've added new sheepskin liners when I thought they were too worn, which gave a new lease of heaven.

Furry Birkenstock mules, they were a game changer for me last winter.

I got gorgeous sheepskin slippers for Christmas (British made) for £30, they are really comfortable and have firm soles so I can even pop outside in them, like a previous poster mentioned, the cheap ones are lucky to last more than 6 months

I got some moshulu slippers for Christmas. They are my 2nd pair. Last pair lasted well over a year(I think 2 but can't remember)
I love the hard sole for nipping outside to the bin.
I specifically asked for them for Christmas as the 1st pair lasted so well.

NaturalBigDarkBrows · 11/01/2021 07:15

Sheepers! Last forever & are so warm

tokenbalm · 11/01/2021 07:17

I got some fitflops suede and sheepskin ones. A memory foam and rubber sole, they give good support, are warm and look like they will last. Fiendishly expensive though.

lotusbell · 14/01/2021 10:18

I love my Landseer sheepskin ones. Bit flat inside now but wearing really well with daily use. Quite flat but I have suspected plantar fasciitis and recently noticed hardly any pain wearing these so must be reasonably supportive. Best of all, they don't smell! They weren't cheap but I did get them when they had a 40 or 50% discount late last year. As others have said, I always paid cheap for slippers and it's definitely worth investing a bit of you can.

*Landsend

lonelySam · 14/01/2021 13:21

UGGs

asquirrel · 14/01/2021 13:22

sorry to hijack but are any of these soft soled? I've got laminate floors and don't want to be tapping around waking up the family when I'm up early for work.

Pootles34 · 14/01/2021 13:24

I have Giesswein that I got for Christmas, so I don't know how they last, but they're so lovely! Really warm. They do have a hard sole so no good for your laminate floors asquirrel

plumpootle · 14/01/2021 13:30

Birkenstock mules here too - v good support but also comfy!

tinselvestsparklepants · 14/01/2021 13:33

I finally persuaded my husband to get some slippers. He was initially horrified but one pair of Birkenstock's later he keeps announcing how warm his feet are and do I want to try them on Grin

Honeywort · 14/01/2021 13:36

Another vote for landend sheepskin. A pair lasts me a full year (and I am sahm so they get a lot of wear) and dh gets two years out of his.

JulietMadeChutney · 15/01/2021 08:18

I buy whichever slippers I like and then pop some Birkenstock insole in them.

luckylavender · 17/01/2021 08:39

Birkenstock or Moshulu

ouchmyfeet · 17/01/2021 08:56

I'm on my second pair of Toms slippers. SO comfy and the first pair lasted 2 years

I have these, very warm. There are versions with a full heel at the back too
