Lined wellies or warm waterproof boots.

DH threw out my knee length leather riding boots which I used for bad weather, I only used maybe once a year or so. I'm looking for something to replace them with but don't want to spend a fortune as rarely use them has anyone got any bargains to recommend. They don't have to be long, calf length is fine.

It depends what your budget is. I've just bought some Grubs boots, which are a sort of welly/muck boot type thing. Mine are the ankle boots but they come in 3 lengths. They are really warm and waterproof and surprisingly comfortable. Mine were £54 online. I will be wearing them pretty much all winter as I live rurally so they are worth every penny! Welly Warehouse can have some good bargains.

This sort of thing^^ maybe? Not too £££. Not long though.

I wear wellies with liners as I wear them all year and don’t want hot boots in the warmer weather when dog walking.

Hope Valley saddlery have Ariat neoprene lined wellies half price, only £39.99. Sorry I can't link from here but you'll find them if you search for them. I have a pair and they're pretty damn good especially at that price.

I have the Joules short Wellibobs for school run/shopping when it's raining and although I love them (and they have a fleece inner sole) I wouldn't recommend them if you're going far, as they're too flat to give any support. Great for quick trips out though, and easy to pull on quickly.

For more substantial waterproof boots I've always been a fan of Merrell. I have some old but very comfy and warm brown leather mid-calf zip-up boots form there which I love, although I'm not saying they're particularly stylish! My only complaint is that they're not that grippy on ice. Mine are similar to these but without the fur: www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/p/merrell-womens-tremblant-ezra-tall-polar-boot-B2144197.html?channable=00ff736964003233333336315f31343369&colour=143&utm_source=google&utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping&utm_campaign=Best%20Sellers%20%C2%A34k%20%20High%20Priority%20tROAS-BOFU-PLA&gclid=CjwKCAiA_9r_BRBZEiwAHZ_v1yAI94TdngE1Bku68rWMuIuEfmgY0T7Rp4ylywe7wPna5JjHnSm8ORoCsPsQAvD_BwE

Finally your other option is just waterproof walking boots - again, mine are Merrell and I love them, and if I could only choose one pair for the whole of winter it'd be those. Mine are not dissimilar to these: www.sportsshoes.com/product/mer1355/merrell-siren-3-mid-gore~tex-women%27s-walking-boots-~-ss21/?utm_campaign=uk-unpaid-shopping&utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_content=Siren+3+Mid+GORE-TEX+Women%27s+Walking+Boots&utm_term=URLrefresh&kw=&cpn=6513413720&gclid=CjwKCAiA_9r_BRBZEiwAHZ_v1-R755Kmbt8r5flv2LaJTy_0kBgybJ7EzqlkZvocNHgIftP4XyGNFRoCDUIQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#sku-mer1355

Have a look at the Mountain Warehouse website. I have some great snow boots that I use to walk the dogs. In the sale they were under £40.

Just an update not quite what I asked for but I've ordered these, not received them yet so will update again when I do.
