Epilator

Hi! I'm after some epilator advice- I started epilating around 6mo ago. Bought 2 different brands and still not happy with results.

My hairs seem to be cut in half rather than pulled out completely for the most part and I am NEVER smooth as I was at least for a few hours when I wet shaved...

I am fairly dark haired and my hairs were so tough when I first started, I needed paracetamol and wine before each session Grin.

Should I buy a better epilator or is that throwing good money after bad? Is there any hope?!

I epilate and tbh, while I find it better than shaving it still doesn’t give me the proper, 100% hairless, baby smoothness I desire.

I also feel that it breaks some hair rather than pulls cleanly though a lot of it does get removed at the root.

To be fair to my epilator though, it did only cost me about £30 so it’s not a really fantastic quality one and it’s at least 10 years old, maybe more!

You need to go slowly with it, it’s a slow methodical movement.
Fast swipes will break hair.

I use mine on facial peach fuzz, my underarms, my arms and ‘down there’ and take off everything except right at the lips because OMG the pain.
I don’t do my legs because it takes far too long, a razor is quicker there and doesn’t leave me with ingrowns or irritations like other areas do.

I used a braun one for several years. I was really pleased with it, hairs grew back much softer and eventually didn't grow at all on large areas on my legs. I'v now started using a laser hair removal after epilating to stop the remaining hairs growing.
