Foundation recommendations

I'm a Double Wear addict but getting older and it suddenly just feels too heavy and my skin is dry so it looks awful.

Also working from home means I don't need something so thick on my face! I am trying so hard to have foundation free days but I would never leave the house without my 'face on'

I need a makeup shakeup.

Can anyone recommend a foundation that covers, yet will make me look a bit fresher/more youthful?

I switched to Mac face and body from a fuller coverage foundation when I realised it was ageing me. I still think it’s great but over lockdown I drifted away from using it because it was a bit messy to apply and I couldn’t be bothered as much unless I was definitely going out. So in one of those Space NK promotions I ordered the Hourglass foundation that comes in a triangular stick (like a pritstick). I’m converted tbh, super quick and neat to apply and can achieve different levels of coverage. I also bought one of these flat ended brushes with the really tightly packed strands so you spot the foundation around your face and then blend... literally seconds.

I've recommended this many times on here but I honestly can't beat the ordinary serum foundation, whenever I try something else I always go back to it. You need to use a brush like this.

I use one drop and buff it all over, it is super thin so doesn't settle but highly pigmented. I then dust over a finishing powder, current favourites are laura geller balance and glow or hourglass lighting powder.

Oh yeah, agree with @Imtoooldforallthis about hourglass ambient lighting powder too
