Pink/yellow colour correctors

Hi there, I'm looking for some advice on under eye colour correctors.

I don't have eye bags but I do have dark circles which are more blue than green in colour. I have fair skin and blond hair and google tells me that I'm a cool skin tone.

Which colour correctors do I need? I'm confused between pink, yellow and peach.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I've just ordered Becca under-eye brightening corrector. I'm told by YouTube it's the answer to my prayers. It does look as though it works well on the women that use it but I can't testify it's powers until it arrives and gets to work on my dark circles.

@WishITookLifeSeriously thanks for that. I shall have a look.

I have read time and again that peach or rather a salmon colour are best for the dark circles under the eyes. Anywhere else pink if for cool skin and yellow for warm colouring.

If the circles are blue then a peach corrector would be best

You work out how to colour correct by looking at colours on a colour wheel. Colours opposite one another cancel each other out so orange or peach counteracts blue, yellow hides purple and green help correct redness.

Colour correctors should be used sparingly though just where you need them and you might find you get the best look by using a b it of corrector and then some concealer in your usual skin tone

I think I might go for a colour corrector palette with the different shades and see what works best for me. Thanks guys.

OP, I have similar colouring to you, and a pale pink corrector works wonders for me. Yellow tends to look a bit murky.

Soral · 03/01/2021 19:04

@Coffeepot72 thanks for posting, I am drawn towards the pink shades with my colouring. I've decided to get a mixed colour corrector palette to try them all out and see what works best.

That's a good idea OP

I've seen that Barry M does one with an application wand..they have a yellow, peach and green one..looks just like their concealer. Think the Maybelline under eye eraser also comes in a peach corrector shade

I Like Rommel Insta Conceal & Correct.

Thanks @Bigpaintinglittlepainting that is exactly what i need.

As a follow up, the Becca brightener was a bit rubbish for me. Just very shiny which just made my dark circles shine silver instead of look like a dull purple

Yeah I didn’t realise how useful it was until I got it, the green is so subtle and works so well around the nose. The peach is great for dark circles and is creamy so stays put, I use a primer underneath as my under eye is so dry. The blue stops any sallow colour so I use it on the cheek underneath the eye and forehead. I use much less makeup now.

It’s great! You can also get it on qvc too but you have to buy two.
