Can you recommend yours? I currently use No 7 but the tube is tiny so really doesn't last very long. I do like it though...

Thanks.

Don’t laugh but I use Lanacane Anti Chafing Gel after a recommendation on here. Apparently similar to Smashbox primer ?! Has lasted me ages. I used to pay £££ for the Nars and MAC primers and much prefer this actually. Go figure Smile

What do you use it for? I used to wear primer to help mattify my skin, but they never really did much. I know it sounds strange, but I powder before applying foundation and it really helps. I think I got the tip from a Jackie Aina video. The powder does a better job than any of the primers I have tried. My foundation goes on smoothly too.

There are loads of good Revolution ones but also the £3 Wilkos one in the pink tube is surprisingly good.

Tinkhasflown · 02/01/2021 17:15

@tofuschnitzel I find it smooths my skin out and my foundation applies better and stays put longer.

@TodgerStrunk I'm in Ireland, so unfortunately no Wilkos here.

@TotallyDisco I'd be willing to give the lanacane a try if I can get it here....

Elf putty primer is my current go to primer, it goes on well and gives me an even canvas for my foundation.

TheFoz · 02/01/2021 17:28

Note cosmetics apparently have a good one. I use Benefit and find it great, it is a bit pricey though.

Ithinkhedidit · 02/01/2021 17:35

Anther vote for elf putty primer.

Maybelline baby skin. I use the pink one (glowy) but I'm not sure it's available outside of Asia, the blue one (matte) is suppose to be a dupe for benefit porefessional.

WellTidy · 02/01/2021 17:46

I really really like the benefit porefessional and use it most days. It doesn’t last that long though, so can work out quite pricey. I also like the Estée Lauder illuminating one primer, but it does more of an illuminating job than the benefit one, which has as its primary job to be more of a smooth base for make up.

The Ordinary Silicone Primer is the absolute dog's gonads. It really sticks your foundation to your face while still looking dewy and light. Magical stuff.

I also recommend The Ordinary serum foundation for maximum glowiness.

Also don't forget about the Nivea men's aftershave balm in the white bottle. I've never tried it but some swear by it.

What type of skin do you have and what finish do you want?
