Has anyone ordered anything from here before: wandererstravelco.uk/products/the-marseille-crossbody-clutch?variant=31465819930699

I like the Marseille bag but I've never heard of the company and it's above my 'fuck it' price point!

There is another thread ongoing somewhere on here and a particular bag, le petit parisien , from this company has been discussed a lot. It gets good reviews.

Rainallnight · 03/01/2021 23:52

Oh @PastramiNoRye, I love that! It’s basically my perfect bag.

DP gave me a very nice —though not as nice as this— crossbody bag for Christmas. Can I justify another so soon?

Rainallnight · 03/01/2021 23:52

Strike through fail Blush

Yes I've got a couple of items from them; the Petite Parisian tote in Tan and the Milano clutch, also in Tan.

The leather is really nice - soft, feels good quality and not at all plastic-y. It's quite unstructured due to the softness, but will also depend on the style of the thing you're interested in.

What annoys me is the metal 'coin' decoration on their stuff and also the hardware (ie, the clips attaching the strap to the bag) are quite clunky and for me that distracts from the quality of the rest of the bag. Would much prefer for a 'sleeker' clasp etc, but that's personal choice I guess.

I am in Australia so not a big deal for me to return stuff, and I think postage was free of charge.

PastramiNoRye · 04/01/2021 12:04

Thanks so much for the responses!

Are the metal discs detachable? I do prefer a super plain bag. If the shape and quality is good, it doesn't need any extra adornments!

My main worry was it's coming all the way from Oz...wonder if I should be buying closer to home. It's so pretty though!

The disk doesn't come off with the two items I've got, but zooming in on the bag you've linked to, looks like it might be removable.

They are nice bags, don't get me wrong, but I am quite fussy and if the leather or hardware doesn't feel "right" it means I most likely won't use the bags as much as I should!

MolotovMocktail · 04/01/2021 12:31

I have two of their bags, the Praiano crossbody in black and the Valencia in tan. Have removed the coin from both. Disagree with a pp about the hardware, I like that it has an aged finish which to me looks less cheap than bright gold or silver. Beautiful soft good quality leather.

JohnandMary · 04/01/2021 13:03

I bought myself the Amalfi bag in teal and a laptop bag for Christmas. Both lovely soft leather and great quality for the price (was 20% off). Coin thingy would come off on the Amalfi but I quite like it.

@PastramiNoRye

I'm so close to ordering Grin
well they have got 20% off at the moment!!
Laquila · 28/04/2021 09:36

@PastramiNoRye did you order?...I'm very taken with their belt bags! God only knows when I'd use what would amount to a v expensive leather bumbag but hey ho!

PastramiNoRye · 28/04/2021 16:49

@Laquila no I didn't! I couldn't make my mind up so I waited and then the discount disappeared. I might still buy one though!

Laquila · 28/04/2021 17:08

Thanks Pastrami! I'm a bit put off by the fact that you'd have to return it to Oz of you didn't want to keep it, and as you say there's currently no discount and I'm conditioned to buy online only with at least a 20% discount 😳

PastramiNoRye · 28/04/2021 17:30

@Laquila yes, that's the other thing that put me off was returning to Australia!

I'm sure I can find something more local than a handbag with such a large carbon footprint. They are lovely though!
