Gel nails

I got a gel nail set for Xmas (lamp, all prep items etc) to be able to do my own at home. Is there any brand of gel that people recommend? And any tips you can pass along for luscious nails? Smile

Mylee is quite good, fairly cheap as well from their website.

Main tips would be use thin coats of gel and don’t get any on the cuticle as it will make the gel lift.

Good luck!

I use Red Carpet Manicure but I use it with their own lamp so not sure if they work with other lamps.

Definitely agree with the tips from previous poster. Make sure your nails are clean before hand, I wipe them over with some nail polish remover first to remove any oils.

Yes Mylee is the brand I received. There's some good colours 😀.

I did my first lot on Boxing Day. I've only had 1 nail peel off so far but I did it too think. And I think I've done them too close to the sides and cuticles. I think it's going to take some practise!

I've just ordered more colours. It's going to become an obsession I think 😂

I like Cuccio and my absolute favourite is Koko & Claire (which soaks off with water rather than acetone but only available from Canada and there's import duty so it gets pricey).

At the cheaper end I've used both Beetles and Aimeili which were both available on Amazon and I was pretty impressed.

People who say gel is bad for nails are almost certainly not getting it removed properly. When removing, always soak until it's coming off easily, don't try to peel it off, resoak if it's not coming away easily.

Thank you. I've got the acetone and some foils ready to take them off. I'll make sure I do it properly Smile
