Knickers

Hi All

I used to wear thongs before I had children then I got out of the habit. I find myself searching year on year for knickers that don't have VPL but also stay in place. I find boy shorts roll up and anything that goes high on the wait rolls down my stomach! I am a size 12-14 and already buy a size up for knickers. I find VPL style has flat seams that don't stay in place. I can't stand seeing VPL on me but really don't find Thongs very comfy anymore. Please hit me with your favourites - ones that stay in place & no VPL. Much appreciated. I am wearing jeggings most of the time these days. I don't know how much £ I have spent on the hunt for this over so many years.

My vote goes for these www.marksandspencer.com/5-pack-no-vpl-microfibre-high-rise-midi-knickers/p/clp22077674?color=NATURALMIX - not sexy but comfy.
Having said that, everyone is different and I think getting advice from others might be of limited help.
Take a trip to a big shopping centre and look around M&S and the other lingerie specialists that you get in the big shopping malls. I find that I need to handle and stretch them to see if they are for me - buying knickers online is hard work.

M&S Brazillians suit me. They have stretch. A big range of colours too.

goose1964 · 30/12/2020 17:11

Plenty here, true to size dead comfy.

icecream777 · 30/12/2020 17:17

Plenty where sorry?

brilliant pants

I've discovered these recently. Brilliant as they are soooooo comfortable, not massive, look nice on are cotton and no VPL. I now have 3 packs and are my everyday pants of choice. I've got grey/navy/ cream too.

Puffalicious · 30/12/2020 17:55

Strange that link not taking you to them. Here's a screenshot.

Also they are true to size, no need to size up at all (I'm a 14 and perfect sizing).

I second the M&S seamless ones. Agree they're not v pretty but they are comfy and do the job.

l’ve had these arrive (l ordered them, there is no magic knicker fairy!! Grin) in green and blue. The colours are lovely. I don’t do white or beige. White reminds me of school and beige makes me look as if I’m made of cardboard!

They are so soft with lots of stretch.

Forgot to mention. If you look at the images on the link, you will see that the back is all over stretch lace, so no seamed elastic on the leg holes, hence no VPL. They are reduced to clear though; the story of my life when l find something l like. They go.

bumpyrider · 31/12/2020 06:27

I wear these high rise waisted underwear men seem to live how they look.

StarlightLady · 31/12/2020 16:50

@bumpyrider - l would feel too like Superman in those. I think something has got lost in translation as well “5% spandex of women”? Grin

Silverstreaks · 31/12/2020 17:16

M&S used to be the place for no vpl in a good range of shapes and colours but they've lost their edge.
Sainsbury TU clothing do some great knickers which are no vpl. 3 pack for about 8 quid.

Puffalicious · 31/12/2020 19:34

I agree silverstreaks Sainsbury"s have the edge. I posted about the 3 pack no vpl earlier- really great.

BornIn78 · 31/12/2020 19:43

I third the M&S seamless knickers linked above. So comfortable and no VPL but not sexy in the slightest.

Brazilian.... every time

MrsCplus · 12/01/2021 19:41

Google scrundies. I’ve never looked back!

lynnielou · 12/01/2021 20:30

Ten cate secrets. Comfy and stay put. Lots of colours.

FindHungrySamurai · 12/01/2021 20:35

M&S Brazilians.

This is going to sound a bit mad but go with me for a minute. I'm a bra fitter but have also had to work out what pants suit what bums!

Put on a pair of black tights/leggings and a black vest- you want to essentially just have an outline of your shape and then take a photo/selfie front and back. If you've got any of those thongs you used to wear in a light or contrasting colour then do the Superman thing and put them over the top and take more pics. Same with the ones you currently have that are closest to what you're looking for.

Use the pics to see where you need your pants to sit. You could draw a pair onto your outline pic to see what shape you need. There are many styles out there and you'll have a better start point.

The height of your waist, the thickness of your thighs, the roundness or not of your bottom and tummy will all influence what works!

KiansKuddles · 14/01/2021 08:14

I'm defo all about the M & S no vpl panties like some of the other commenters on this forum!

Bagelsandbrie · 14/01/2021 08:19

I’m always mystified so many people recommend M and S Brazilians on these threads. I ordered some off the back of a similar thread and found them the most uncomfortable pants ever, definitely the right size but just went up my bum constantly. Can’t stand them. I really like the midi m and s style- covers everything so no seams showing in the middle of your trousers (as seams go neatly around the top of your legs and under your whole bum!) and really comfortable.

StarlightLady · 14/01/2021 11:13

I’m surprised substantial fabric is in anyone’s criteria for knickers. I want gossamer fabrics and softness.

Bellateabea · 14/01/2021 11:30

Thunderpants. Love them. Fabulous fit, thick cotton, stay where they are supposed to. Can be high rise (original fit) or lower (hipster fit) but either way great butt coverage! www.thunderpants.co.uk/collections/womens-original
