£50 to spend at Space NK - need inspiration!

My lovely sister-in-law gave me a £50 e-gift voucher for Space NK for Christmas. I used to treat myself to the odd bit from there pre-kids, but that feels like a long time ago and I have no idea what to spend it on!

I was thinking maybe a posh moisturiser for my face? I am late 30s and suppose it might be time for some anti-aging magic potion.

Any recommendations for this or for any other Space NK goodies would be very gratefully received.

I also received a gift voucher for Space NK, love the place so giving a little bump as currently can't see past Diptyque candles or Nars makeup. Hoping for some hidden gems.

Violetroselily · 29/12/2020 22:17

Not hidden gems, but Kiehls cleanser and ultra facial cream are firm favourites here. There's a couple of Drunk Elephant kits which look pretty decent.

I generally tend to buy more make up than skincare from there tbh - one of the Hourglass palettes would be my rec.

I would be heading for REN products, particularly the shower gel and body creams. Khiels are also good as are Caudalie.

Whatever you do, I wouldn’t recommend putting it towards the much hyped Augustinus Bader moisturisers - all of them left my skin feeling incredibly greasy!
I’d be tempted to go for some nice bath things, I have my skincare and makeup collections nailed now and it all works for me.
I have a lot of ndulge points to use up though and am waiting for a good GWP before I spend them...

I'm currently using the Augustinus Bader Rich Cream and I really like it. I only need two pumps for my dry skin. I won't rebuy it due to the price though. The Space NK sale is currently on. Also if you don't spend it now there will be £15 off a £60 spend in February.

I’d always end up with a diptyque candle!

I’d look at some Sunday Riley if you’re going for face products though.

Happy shopping

I second this, had one in the advent calender this year and meh. Also found drunk elephant very underwhelming.

What are your main skin woes/concerns OP?

semideponent · 30/12/2020 13:19

I love the Kiehls Night oil (the one in a purple bottle).

Sisley do a fantastic eye mask in a pale green tube. That said, I might have found it a bit rich in my late 30s (the skin round my eyes is ageing really fast now).

Sunday Riley has some nice products too - the night oil with retinol is great; also the Vitamin C cream (in the orange pot).

Closetbeanmuncher · 30/12/2020 13:22

Any dermatologist will tell you to spend the larger portion of your skincare on a serum.

Any moisturiser suited to your skin type is fine as long as spf 30 min for day and use a richer one at night when your skin is healing and most receptive.

Housewife2010 · 30/12/2020 16:33

It's better to have a separate SPF rather than one in your moisturiser.

superking · 30/12/2020 19:57

Oh thanks everyone, some good inspiration here. I'm quite enjoying just browsing so I might not buy anything till there's the £15 off in Feb - thanks for the tip Housewife2010

If you like sweet smells the Laura Mercier vanilla or creamer brûlée range smell amazing

LBB2020 · 30/12/2020 20:48

Laura Mercier honey bath, the fig one is lovely

TheChosenTwo · 30/12/2020 21:03

@Housewife2010 I’m glad it works for you! I’ve bought the rich cream and then the cream and find both turn my already quite oily (but dehydrated, hence trying this!) skin into an actual oil slick! I gave up using them a while ago and passed them onto my mum who said the same thing. She gave them to my sister and she said it was useless! I haven’t a clue where they are now but it was a massive waste of a lot of money (had a lot of points to use up when I bought the first one anyway) - I know not to spend a lot of money on the bookends of skin, cleansers and moisturisers and yet got sucked in!! Then got another rich one in my bloody advent calendar Grin

phoolani · 30/12/2020 23:37

something for the body: Laura Mercier body lotion in Fig. For the face: a bit of Sunday Riley, Good Genes or (my fave) ceo glow oil, or a bit of Medik8 retinol.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 30/12/2020 23:52

I got one as well. Spent it in 6 minutesGrinLipstick, Lip liner from Lipstick Queen. CT chameleon eyestick in the Sale and a Nars blusher.
