Jewellery - how much do you spend?

I’m wondering if my jewellery buying habits are getting a bit out of hand!
It’s been a strange year for many of us and I’ve cheered myself up by investing in jewellery - not been able to go on holiday - buying less clothes etc as nowhere to go to where them etc
Just had a little count up and I’ve probably spent 5k (admittedly some of that was part of an insurance claim)
If it helps justify it - I always try to buy well enough that I can recoup outlay or make a profit

I was actually just thinking of starting a thread with nearly the same theme!

I don't buy expensive jewellery - I only like silver and semi-precious stones, so I might spend about £50 on an exceptionally nice ring or pendant, but that hasn't happened for quite a while. I make a lot of my own earrings and I collect bangles from charity shops because I love mixing up a different selection to go with different outfits. I've never totted up what I spend in a typical year but I should think it would be less than £200 (and some of that would be out of present money).

There's a type of silver bracelet I'd really like one day that would probably be around the £120-150 mark, but I feel like I should only spend that much to mark some important achievement or birthday (the next one of those will be my 60th but it's still a few years away). If I had a big budget, I'd spend more of it on clothes than jewellery, I think. That's no criticism of people who spend more, just a reflection of my odd taste!

I’ve spent a lot over the years on collecting Georgian lovers eye pieces. Some are mourning with diamonds or pearls as tears, some are just romantic.
The most unusual necklace is a modern, hand painted and hand made piece. It’s David Bowie’s very distinctive eyes , set in silver connected with a moon stone.

The Bowie piece was around two hundred or so, but the gold rings were the most expensive and I can’t wear them at the moment as all the handwashing would ruin them.

Alison Moore things are lovely. DH bought me the silver open heart ring as one of my christmas presents. Her silver items are not expensive, but the lovely gold bangle has gone up so many times it is now off my list.

@PhoebeSnow
Your pieces sound lovely - I prefer vintage myself - oldest ring I’ve got is 1730s, but mostly Victorian or 20th century

Not a penny, all my jewelry is either inherited or given to me as gifts.
Although I'm quite interested in antique stuff at times, never bought anything yet as, well, haven't really loved any pieces so far.
No help from here, sorry.

I love the art deco type rings too. Saw an old one in the jewellery Quarter in February and wish I just brought it.

Ex, I am tempted by the silver rings for my birthday from Alison Moore although I love the gold one. I have a chunky one from Lavan which is really nice, a silver and gold one.

I spent years just wearing a pair of diamond studs and some Tatty Devine. A few months ago I started to buy some more earrings and I've made a point to keep wearing different items.
I recently bought the Dinny Hall suffragette hoops and a pair of hexagon huggies from Rachel Jackson. There's a polish designer Karolina Bik who does unusual nature inspired pieces too.

I guess to answer the question, in the last year I've had handmade platinum sapphire square studs from the jewellery Quarter as a birthday gift, a silver and gold Lavan ring, for Christmas I got two charms, a silver beaded bracelet and a Mirabella crystal ball pendant. I bought some silver snowflake earrings for winter and ordered a silver ring from Monica V in the sale.
