Buying myself some diamond earrings and can’t decide between 2 styles of you lovely people could help? Both are 0.5 carat.

I have 2, also a Cartier Russian wedding ring I haven’t worn since March for fear of flicking earrings out with mask (I’ve broken a £500 pair of glasses with sweaty faced masked stress) and ruining the ring with sanitiser or leaving it somewhere when hand washing. Can’t wait to wear them again.

2 - classic rather than a setting that will probably look dated in a few years.

I have a very similar pair that my mum got me as a wedding gift. The setting makes them look bigger than they are and sets off the stone really nicely.

I got a ring with 2 setting instead of 1 and regretted it ever since. 1 is stunning. 2 okay.
