Rosehip oil and rosacea skin

I have tried Retinol in the past for it's supposedly anti wrinkle qualities but it made my rosacea skin horribly red and angry so I didn't dare to continue using it.
I was very happy to read that rosehip oil is a sort of natural Retinol including anti wrinkle effect but without the agressive effects on skin. I've used it for 2 nights in a row now but my face looks again blotchy and red. I do wonder if perhaps it's still too agressive for rosacea skin? I have used other natural oils in the past such as olive oil and rice bran oil but my skin never reacted so badly to these Sad

Rosehip oil is just an extra hydrator and will help to plump the first signs of ageing.

I've heard azelaic acid is good for rosacea and is also often suggested as an alternative for retinol. I use the ordinary version and like it.

Thank you @diddlediddle, I'll have a look at that one.
