I need some cheap, comfortable and warm workwear asap

Have put on weight again, size 14 apple shape. Need some cheap warm dresses for work as a teacher. Nice and long, with sleeves and pockets hopefully. I have no waist or bum, but good boobs and legs.

Where can I find such things, bloody internet throws up chiffon, low cut wraps, mini dresses. I am middle aged not a stick thin 19 year old.

Suggestions needed please. Starting new job in January. Cheers.

Tu at Sainsbury's has some good options at low cost.

PurpleDaisies · 28/12/2020 11:25

I agree with Sainsbury’s. I have lots from there.

If you get cold easily (as I do), don't discount the idea of wearing a vest underneath. It's no more visible than a bra, & adds a lot to warmth.

White stuff/Fat Face/Boden and Joules will have dresses like that.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 28/12/2020 11:30

I would look up sweater dresses. Have Seasalt got anything?

SuburbanCrofter · 28/12/2020 11:34

Have you had a look Uniqlo OP?

Thanks all. Forgot about Sainsburys, used to love tescos online and was gutted when they stopped clothes.

Sorry to the others, Seasalt, White stuff is not cheap to me as they seem to be about £60 per dress. That's a lot on my wage especially when I teach science and stuff gets ruined easily.

Sweater dresses wouldn't be smart enough either. I would look unkempt as I'm not one of those easily stylish people. :-(

Nope didn't like those, so many short dresses and too short for me. tried Asda too, seems short and shapeless with lots of extra material in sleeves and extra frills in in this year.

Not at all flattering to me.

Boden has some dresses for about £30/£35 in their sale. How about something like this:

www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/layla-jersey-dress-submarine/sty-j0740-mos?cat=C1_S2

Could be layered with a polo or thin top if not warm enough or too low cut, or with a cardigan over.

Or some in the White Stuff sale -

Look on eBay OP, you can get some beautiful clothes.
I like White Stuff skirts and have some really lovely ones I could never afford to buy from the shop!

Uniqlo is great for warm neutral clothes

Thanks all have found some from those links - also remembered Mand Co which had some nice stuff.

Fingerscrossed they fit now :-)
