Sweaty Betty sizing wtf?

Just did their leggings fit quiz as I wanted to buy some in the sale and they said I should go for size XS. According to their own size chart a 12 (which is almost always my size) is a M. In fact sometimes I'm a 14 in trousers.

Is their sizing completely mad? I know I can take them back but it's a bit of a faff!

No idea what happened with the fit guide! But I’d say try a M or L. Usually Sweaty Betty sizing works out so XS=8, S=10 and so on.

ScrapThatThen · 27/12/2020 13:38

Well, some of these fit guides are worked out based on what products people return, exchange for and then keep. Any clues if you read through the reviews?

Coconut80 · 27/12/2020 13:55

I am a generous 12 and medium in the leggings is a perfect fit x

Elieza · 27/12/2020 13:58

I’d be complaining to them about their quiz if you answered all the questions accurately and it directed you to a completely wrong size tbh.

Twinkie01 · 27/12/2020 13:59

I'm a 10/12 and wear small if that helps, my rubbing buddy is a 14 and wears medium.

NeurologicallySpeaking · 27/12/2020 16:28

Right will try medium. Maybe it's a glitch then- I answered all the questions truthfully and then went back to double check as well!

Thank you all!

I agree, as a 12 I wear a medium. They fit well.

Wale90 · 27/12/2020 17:11

Im a small 12 and have S in the Power, when I was a 10 I went for xs.

I prefer a tight fit and hate bunching around the knee. I always size smaller on their leggings than I would in say jeans etc.

abricotine · 27/12/2020 18:23

I take a size smaller in the zero gravity than in the power which I find more generous.

abricotine · 27/12/2020 18:24

Argh sorry that post made no sense. I take smaller size in the power (which I find more generous).

Bathroom12345 · 27/12/2020 18:30

I am a 10 but have recently brought a black SB anorak and ordered a XS and it fits perfectly even with bulky clothes. Got it at 25% off from John Lewis so feel even smuger..

XS and 25% off.... not that this has anything to do with this thread.

Booksandwine80 · 27/12/2020 20:11

I had to send a sports bra back as a large was absolutely tiny (I’m a 14)
Was so small I couldn’t get my arms into it Confused

Toomuchleopard · 27/12/2020 20:13

I have several pairs of M leggings, I’m a 12 they fit great. Also get 7/8 length if you’re not tall

confusedpombear · 27/12/2020 20:36

I'm a size 6-8 normally and I wear an S 7/8th legging size. Not sure what happened with that fit guide but I agree it doesn't sound quite right. I have to say though, I'm a total convert, they fit beautifully

Bloodhoundgang · 27/12/2020 20:59

I'm a 10 and wear the Small, 7/8 length. I'd be garroted in an XS🤣

Everley · 28/12/2020 00:20

I’ve just done the leggings quiz out of curiosity. I’m a size 16, 5 foot 2. It picked out three pairs of leggings, one was a size XL (which I would normally go for) and the other two were XS. I would be surprised if I got an ankle into a size XS pair of leggings Hmm

kulaexchange · 28/12/2020 00:31

I recently got my first pair. I'm having to do a fair bit of hoiking up if I wear them throughout the day. I hadn't really thought anything of this but have just noticed a tiny little hole in them on the thigh. I could have caught them on something but am worried that it might be from pulling them up and that maybe this means I need a bigger pair. Any insight welcome. They feel and look the right size.

Glad it's not just me! Maybe they have some XS they want to get rid of!

Seems like XS is the size for all - I just did the quiz out of curiosity too. I am 5ft 6 and 8-10 on the bottom...and all pairs selected for me were XS too. I had a pair (some time ago now, so sizing may have changed) that were an S and fit well.

AlwaysColdHands · 28/12/2020 08:15

@ kulaexchange You might need to size down?

I had some in medium, accidentally got sent a small and they were so much better. I never have to pull them up now. Worth a try

Rollergirl11 · 28/12/2020 09:59

I think the suggestions they give you when doing the quiz are based on the stock they have available at the time. When I ordered mine on Christmas Eve they had XS in pretty much everything and that is what they were suggesting for me too. I’m a size 10 on bottom and little so I went for 7/8 in a Small for a pair of Power and Zero Gravity. Can’t wait for them to arrive!

elizabethdraper · 28/12/2020 18:24

I am a 16 and their quiz told me XS

I ordered a large and they fit like a glove. I have no idea how they expected me to fit into XS!!

shallbe · 28/12/2020 20:07

I'm a 12 currently and M leggings fit well, but the M tops are too tight really though I can just about wear them, I'm quite big chested though (34E).

WillYouDoTheFandango · 28/12/2020 21:06

That so weird. I was just going to say exactly the same at @Shallbe. I’m also a size 12 and wear a medium legging but had to get an XL long sleeved glisten running top to accommodate my 34Es. Are you me Shallbe?

shallbe · 28/12/2020 21:27

@WillYouDoTheFandango haha maybe Grin hoping my new sports bra will strap me down enough to enable me to zip the top as I can't be arsed to return!
