Simple everyday makeup

Hi.
I saw a link of Facebook to a video showing an easy everyday makeup routine that only used 4 products. I can't find it anymore!
I think it was mascara, lipstick, liquid blusher and concealer.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
Has anyone tried it and does it work?

Never seen the video but that's just about all I use - but I swap the concealer for eyebrow stuff.

I use:
IT cosmetics CC cream
Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek
Max Factor False Lash Effect Volumising Mascara
ELF Brow Gel

That's it, looks natural but skin tone is even etc.

ineedsun · 27/12/2020 12:19

Mascara
Eyeliner (just a line to make the eyelashes look thicker)
Concealer

If I am dressing up I use lip gloss too

Bangkokbaby · 27/12/2020 12:27

I just hate the feeling of foundation on my skin. It never seems to sit properly and looks terrible!
Id like to try something to make me look not as tired, and a bit more presentable. I really struggle with mascara as everything seems to smudge, even waterproof stuff!

Beauty and the Boutique?

Not tried it but thinking of ordering some of her products.

Littleyell · 27/12/2020 12:36

If you hate foundation OP you could use a tinted moisturiser? Buy one from some where like Debenhams.

I think it might be this one! Thanks.

Sounds like Beauty and the Boutique to me too, she does some great simple make up videos. I really rate the Veil concealer she uses and have some of that liquid blusher too.

LaBellina · 27/12/2020 12:41

I use concealer on the areas that need it (I also hate foundation), eyebrow pencil and mascara. Sometimes a bit of blush.

I found that the biggest difference in looking groomed overall is made by having well defined eyebrows and a bit of coverage on the parts of your skin that need it. You don't need a whole face of foundation for that.

It's the veil concealer that I was interested in. I've just bought some of the liquid blusher, but am not sure about shelling out £25 for concealer! Is it much better than budget brands?

If you want a good concealer on a budget, Maybelline Age Rewind is great as are the NYX concealers. Kiko Milano also has great ones.

afrikat · 27/12/2020 12:59

I got the veil concealer and the liquid blusher from beauty and the boutique - both are amazing and last a long time

Have you tried complexion rescue by bare minerals? I absolutely swear by it - looks very natural but very light on the skin and doesn't feel like heavy makeup at all!
Whereland · 27/12/2020 13:45

Vichy mineral blend foundation is a lovely light sheer blend which gives a nice even coverage and just feels like a moisturiser

Slowturtle · 27/12/2020 14:30

I have darker, purple skin around my eyes that I've always struggled to cover and budget brands never cut it. Veil has worked better than most and the colour match is spot on for me. Its also really easy to blend and it's easy to build coverage. Can't comment on how it compares against recent budget concealers but it's much better than the Clinique one I was using before. If you message them through Facebook they'll do a colour match for you

NorbertMeubles · 27/12/2020 16:30

I only use 4 products

Foundation
Mascara
Eyeliner
Lipstick

Coffeepot72 · 27/12/2020 16:33

If I use NARS tinted moisturiser, under eye concealer/highlighter, loose powder, mascara and blusher - I look ok enough to answer the door, nip to the shops and join a Teams call ! That’s my barest minimum

Odile13 · 27/12/2020 16:34

Liquid foundation looks terrible on me. I love mineral foundation applied with a kabuki brush. It doesn’t ‘sit’ on my face or show up the downy hairs, just gives a nice uniform covering. Might be worth a try!

Coffeepot72 · 27/12/2020 16:36

Am I the only person who uses powder??

Shorthairlady · 27/12/2020 16:43

@Coffeepot72 I use powder. Can't seem to use concealer without it.

Coffeepot72 · 27/12/2020 16:47

@Slowturtle which veil product do you use? I have horrendous dark circles but recently discovered pink colour corrector/highlighter which almost negates the need for concealer - but I’m still interested to know if the perfect concealer exists!

AuntHilda · 27/12/2020 17:05

I only use 3

Laura Geller balanced and bright baked foundation
Mascara
Lipstick or lipgloss

Takes about two minutes, if that

BusterGonad · 27/12/2020 17:05

I think you'd be better off with an ultra thin, fluidy foundation than a tinted moisturiser as it won't be thick and can double up as a concealer, also tinted moisturizer can feel quite heavy/tacky on the skin if you aren't used to them. I have Estee Lauder double wear nude water fresh (discontinued) and its very runny and feels light on the skin. Maybe look for a similar one/dupe.

BusterGonad · 27/12/2020 17:06

I hate powder, it ages me terribly and makes my skin itchy.

@Coffeepot72 I use the Veil concealer n3. Laura Mercia flawless fusion is also good but feels heavier.

Bangkokbaby · 29/12/2020 10:53

Thanks for all your suggestions 😃
I have tried BB/cc creams in the past and wasn't too keen, I have bad skin that breaks out in spots with the slightest provocation. I find covering my skin up actually makes it worse in the long run.
I have pressed powder that o do put on occasionally. I also used to use bare minerals loose Powder foundation. Thinking back I finished off the pot, so it must have worked well. I have so many partially used products that I've given up on 🙈
I've bought the veil concealer in V2, fingers crossed it works ok.
I really need to get my eyebrows done, but am not brave enough to do it myself and can't go to my beautician at the moment. I think it always helps me look a bit more 'put together'
