Eyeliner for hooded eyes

I hate my hooded eyes. The older I get the more they seem to sag and it makes me look older than my 37 years. I used to wear black gel eyeliner when I was younger and it really made my eyes look better. I have a feeling it wouldn't look quite the same now I'm older! Can anyone recommend a good eyeliner for mature, hooded eyes and a technique to apply it?

I find ignoring any standard tutorials and just drawing it on with my eye open works the best - I used to be able to do it with my eye closed but now I need it to be open so it looks right when my eyes are open (if you see what I mean - just that drawing the standard shape doesn’t give the right result any more). A more liquidy eyeliner pen with a fine brush (not felt tip type) helps with being able to be accurate. I have had to relearn every few months as my face continues its slow disintegration!

I have hooded eyes and have pretty much given up on eyeliner but this is pretty good

Also comes in black

I tend to just use this

and only along the waterline - the problem with hooded eyes is that there isn’t enough space to fit eyeliner in.

I think to make hooded eyes bigger it’s about eyeshadow and mascara application, especially the cut crease technique.

Black magic is the eyeliner I use too btw - clearly a winner for hooded eyes!

I have slightly hooded eyes and only do the eyeliner on the outer corners...if I do it all the way across I lose my lid and it smudges like crazy. If you google the Pixiwoo Angeline Jolie makeup video there's a really good demo there.

I've given up trying. I've got hooded eyelids and they droop down beyond the end of my eye.

I now tightline the upper lash line to make my eyelashes look fuller instead.

I just concentrate on the lashes now. Liner makes it look worse.

Tight-ish line outer two thirds top and bottom, no flick just join up top and bottom slightly extended, lots of tubing curling mascara imho.

Clinique quick eyes eyeliner

Katie Jane Hughes is a make up artist on Instagram who gives lots of advice specifically around eyeliner shapes for hooded eyes.
Worth a look.

I use wunderbrow eyiner as its the only one I've found that doesn't transfer to my eyelids but its pricey so I only wear it for occasions. Google hooded eye tutorials, there is a totally different technique esp if you want the cat flick eyeliner look.

After trying lots of different eye liners, i found one that doesn't budge or transfer as long as you let it dry, infact I have a hard time removing it at the end of the day, it a mac one, someone on here recommended it, its the best one I have tried that lasts all day.

Following with interest as I have the same issue.
