Impossible to find Bridal shoes

Yamaya · 27/12/2020 07:58

I'm supposed to be getting married next year (covid allowing) but I am finding it impossible to find shoes Sad

I need about a size 2.5 in a sandal. It needs to be ivory to match my dress or would possibly go with diamonte type straps as all you will see with my long dress is the toes. I want a small block heel because I can't walk well in heels but block heels are usually OK. I am short so would like a bit of a heel.

Can't find anything anywhere apart from one designer Charlotte someone??? But they were over £200 and I don't really want to pay that much on something I will probably only wear once.

Surely I'm not the only small footed person to get married!

Surely some bridesmaid shoes would fit the brief?

Yamaya · 27/12/2020 08:01

These were the expensive ones I found. I don't even like them that much!

Where would you get those from?

There might be something on there, they have loads of styles for tiny feet.

Palavah · 27/12/2020 08:03

Where do you normally get your shoes from? What you are describing sounds like it would be available in mainstream shoe shops for spring/summer if they do your size?

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 27/12/2020 08:04

Monsoon?

Ginfordinner · 27/12/2020 08:05

Have you looked at bridesmaids shoes for children?

Have you tried this brand, they have size 3 which could work and lots at sale prices.

Yamaya · 27/12/2020 08:08

I've looked at monsoon. They all seem to start in a 4.maybe it's the wrong season for it, but I don't want to leave it too late to get shoes.

I usually get sandals from new look who do a 2.5 for young girls but they don't have anything in ivory or silver last time I looked.

Definitely second the suggestion to look at bridesmaid/flowergirl shoes, try monsoon on the high street. My daughter was a bridesmaid and her feet were a 2.5 at the time but she got away with a ladies size 3 sandal. With a closed toe you could even add an insole. Her sandals were just cheap ones from Wyndsors but looked the part.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 27/12/2020 08:10

ASOS stock small sizes too

Yamaya · 27/12/2020 08:15

A 3 is OK in boots or shoes where you can wear socks or the shoes are held on by being around your foot and ankle but for sandals with no socks and especially a heel I need 2.5. 3 is too big and my foot slides forward and 2 is often too small

Yamaya · 27/12/2020 08:16

I will have a search for bridesmaids shoes. With a closed toe might be better to stop my foot sliding forward.

Have you looked at JJ's House?
They go down to size 34 which I think is 2.5?
I have ordered my wedding shoes from there. They took a while to come but were a reasonable price and were exactly as the picture.

Labobo · 27/12/2020 08:29

Are these Monsoon shoes any good (from children's dept?)

Weedsnseeds1 · 27/12/2020 08:29

Tk Maxx is worth a go, they often have a good selection in small sizes.
Also have a look at latin/ballroom dancing shoes. Strappy, lowish heels, silver, diamanté are popular in dance shoes.

LittleGungHo · 27/12/2020 08:30

I would suggest waiting until February as that is when lots of the normal shops have sandals come into stock.

You of course want to feel fabulous but remember that most bridal shoes never get seen. I managed to get mine in TK Maxx. It is a long day on your feet so being comfortable is important.

Not 100% what you are after but only £7 and in size 2 and 3... www.newlook.com/uk/girls/footwear/shoes/girls-silver-patent-clear-strap-block-heel-sandals/p/650960592.

Good luck in the search

Labobo · 27/12/2020 08:31

Also look up pageant shoes and first communion shoes. I found these on Etsy.

ithinkyouareveryrude · 27/12/2020 08:34

I gave up finding ‘bride shoes’ when the lady in the shop assured me it didn’t matter they were different colours (one ivory white, one a kind of yellow) they’re all dyed anyway.

Can you find a high street pair?

What about any of these? pretty-small-shoes.com/collections/wedding-shoes

Cookies47 · 27/12/2020 08:35

You might not want me to say this, but I had two pairs of Charlotte Mills shoes for my wedding - one pair of flats, one massive pink sparkly pair - as I have one size 3 foot & one 2.5 foot. Absolutely no regrets, best wedding outfit purchase I made, because I felt amazing all day.
I have REALLY slim feet, so getting the right, comfy shoes, was perfect. Can you contact Charlotte & ask her to change up some of the shoes to be a pair you love? I've met her & she was really lovely :)
She's a brand but also a real person
Good luck!

Yamaya · 27/12/2020 08:41

Some of the bridesmaids shoes do look like children's shoes which I don't really want. I did find these both from John Lewis but the more expensive ones which I prefer are a 3 at the smallest and no strap so i think my foot would slip forward and just lift out.

Pair I like but think won't fit

Pair I might get in a 3 because they are childrens

I forgot to mention my feet are really narrow too!

Oh thanks Cookies47. Maybe I should go for the Charlotte Mills ones! Confused
Just a lot of money. Wish I could try them on in a shop but not going anywhere because in tier 4 now.

Might be worth looking here although not sure they do a half size. I had the opposite problem, big feet and tall.

Honeywort · 27/12/2020 08:50

I’d echo pp about dance shoes (especially Latin or ballroom). Freed of London is where I bought mine (years ago!). But they definitely go down to 2.5
