Please recommend something for my face

I have eczema but the skin on my face seems different and is just awful.. idk if this is side effects from cream I was prescribed or if its something other people have had? It seems to be hormonal, as it comes and goes really suddenly in a matter of days. I'm breastfeeding. I'm 26, my skin shouldn't be this papery Sad You can see my skin is so tight that around my eyes it gets pulled away from my eyeballs.. When it's really bad my vision gets blurry because I can't blink properly. Just feel like I need an injection of something. Been waiting for a year now for my dermatology referral so just wondered if anyone had this experience for some tips in the meantime. Pls help!

Sorry you’re going through this.
Was it a steroid you were prescribed?

Can you use Cerave or the Cerave healing ointment?Aquaphor/ Or just Vaseline?

Maybe use a little Diprobase if you can tolerate that (it’s fine to use as a cleanser and a moisturiser).

But get back on to the GP as soon as you can to see if they can suggest something. Best wishes.

Aveeno baby for eczema prone skin is good. There's another one in their baby range that is very scented so avoid that one but the eczema prone one worked very well on DS's face right from when he was a couple of weeks old. I now also use it.

What is your skin regime?

Thanks for your replies. Tried basically all emollients prescribed by GP, don't use soap as it irritates, so wash with emollient instead, and have started using dead Sea salt recently which takes away the inflammation. Before using dead Sea salt it used to be worse

I recall using Dead Sea something in the past- might have been a soap.
The Aveeno baby range is very good but not the one with fragrance. Have you tried Cicaplast Baume?

Make sure you have enough vitamin C in your diet. Vit C plays a role in collagen production.

For the dryness, avoid E45 - it contains a form of alcohol which, in my opinion, dries the skin further and can make any dry skin worse! Use hyaluronic acid, its very moisturising. I swear by La Roche Posay products, and Hyalu B5 in particular.

I also love La Roche Posay Cicaplast baume. It is fragrance free too. E45 was no good for an area of eczema but the E45 hand wash was ok for my hands. Hope you get some relief soon.

Another vote for aveeno. I have very sore, flaky skin on my chin. I’ve started using this at night and in the last two weeks my skin has felt and looked a lot better. I started using it in desperation (I’d bought it for my legs and then found it said it was ok for face too) without much hope- so pleased I did.

I’ve gone from snowflakes of tissue paper skin falling off (sorry!) to much smoother, plumper feeling skin.
