A niche perfume like Opium?

Hello!

Can any perfumistas help?

I used to love the original opium but I smelt the reformulation and it is nothing like it!!

Can you think of any of the smaller perfume brands that have something similar I might like?

L'air du desert Marocain - it isn't a dupe of Opium but is unique

For something more similar, Chanel Coromandel

Perfume parlour Opium smells more like original 1980s Opium than the new Opium. (Though I have the reformulation and as far as modern reforms go, Opium isn't bad)
If you want spice, then I second Tauer. My favourite is Lonestar Memories but LADDM and Au Coeur du Desert are also fab.
Also agree with Coromandel.

Serge Lutens does some very heady scents, as does Frederic Malle. You could spend a happy afternoon reading reviews on Fragratica, it’s a great website.

I have never tried Mitsouko. I did however get a Frederic Malle sample set for Xmas
