Mango sizing - help!

I've just seen a sweater in the sale that I love, but it's only available in XS and L. In most shops I'm a 10/S, though have put on a bit of weight this year so am nudging a 12, though mostly in bottoms, not tops (I have quite a small bust).

I thought traditionally Mango was supposed to come up tiny but have found a couple of threads on here that say it went from being tiny to being big (these threads date back a few years ago though).

So what's the story now? I'm really confused! Happy if the L is slightly oversized, but don't want to be swamped, especially as I'm only 5'2"...

I find it really depends on the item. I'm a 12 and have a range of S to L with mango clothes.

Could you order both and return the one that doesn't work?

I find Mango pretty true to size. I wouldn't say it came up small although all the clothes are so oversized these days it's hard to tell! If it's more of an oversized thing, I think you'd be OK in the XS. I can't the L being any good.

Thanks both - ah, it's so confusing! I think I will do like @newnamenancy suggests and order both and see what works. I have other things to send back after Christmas anyway, so I might as well add another one to the pile
