Where do you get casual tops from?

I'm so sick of tshirts getting full of holes in a couple of months! Just had to chuck a load out from m and s.
Willing to spend a bit more for quality - but where do you get your casual tshirts/tops from? I'm early 30s. TIA!

A local shop, who stocks mid-price less well known European stuff, but not designer brands. M&S quality is mostly rubbish, but the odd gem gets past 'quality control'.

I've got some nice tees from Boden and Cos which have washed well.

I have some from asda I've had about 3yrs and still look fine.

Fortniterocket · 22/12/2020 18:33

Watching with interest.

No matter where I buy mine from, I always end up with a whole around the waistband of my jeans. Can't even blame the jeans because its with different pairs.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 22/12/2020 18:35

The best tees I've ever had were from Store 21. No word of a lie, one of them is older than my 14 year old son, washes like a dish rag and always looks great. I was GUTTED when they went out of business 😭

nc2000000 · 22/12/2020 19:44

@Fortniterocket same! V frustrating. The best ones I had used to be from jigsaw but the quality seems awful now

I’m early 30s. I get daytime blouses/shirts/tops to wear with jeans from Sézane, Rouje, Kitri Studio, Reformation, Avavav, Ganni. For more basic plain cotton plain tops I go to Sunspel which has the best quality basics IMO.

Have got some great 3/4 sleeve tops from Weird Fish. Casual but could also be dressed up. Excellent quality material and stitching

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 22/12/2020 22:02

I like boden tees, and I’ve recently picked up a few jumpers from M&S which I’m happy with so far. I also randomly found long sleeved T-shirts in Morrison’s which are really soft cotton, and have actually washed pretty well so far.
I’m late 30’s and petite.

BikeRunSki · 22/12/2020 22:04

BAM - 4 years old, still look new

Blackcountryexile · 22/12/2020 22:41

@ColdTattyWaitingForSummer
Seconding your recommendation of Morrison's t shirts. I think they are better quality cotton at a fraction of the price of the ones I ordered from Joules.

1frenchfoodie · 23/12/2020 01:46

I like Uniqlo. Sometimes a bit thin but in a good, drapey way.

Still get holes by jeans waistband occasionally but I’ve tracked it to the metal button pinching the t-shirt against my quartz kitchen worksurface, was never an issue with laminate. Invested in an apron to try to reduce it (not going to whip it on to make the odd cup of tea though..)

Othering · 23/12/2020 07:38

Mint velvet. Good sale on now too.

elastamum · 23/12/2020 07:41

It's the seat belt of my car rubbing against the button in my jeans that wrecks my t shirts

Ginfordinner · 23/12/2020 07:44

I don't understand why your T-shirts go into holes after only two months. I don't buy expensive T-shirts. Mine are from M and S, Sainsburys, Matalan and Primark and are years old. What are you doing to them?

Buttercupcup · 23/12/2020 07:47

I love a joules top, I have a few of their long sleeve T-shirt tops that I have a had for a few years and wash great and you can often pick them up really reasonable in the sales!

Djouce · 23/12/2020 07:48

I have some jersey tops that have lasted very well from Baukjen.

Nc135 · 23/12/2020 07:54

Boden. They have white t shirts that actually are thick enough not to see your bra. But you need to experiment a bit because they have lots of different styles and some are thicker than others. I actually like the ones as well that are also a bit see through. I mix it up a bit. But they have lots of basics and lots of colours. Just don’t know what I would do without them for my basics.
