Are flared jeans coming back into fashion?

I like skinnies but need a change. I really don’t like mom or wide leg jeans, I don’t think They flatter anyone unless under a size 8 - which I’m not.

I’ve seen flared Jamie jeans on the Topshop website and they were always flattering and versatile.

Are they coming back? Too soon?

They've been back in a few months- love them!!

Yes they are back. DD who’s very switched on regarding trends is wearing cut off wide jeans with heeled boots.

Judging by the amount of times Tess and Claudia wore them on Strictly this year, they must be!

Coffeepot72 · 21/12/2020 22:44

Do you mean bootleg jeans?

FuckOffBorisYouTwat · 21/12/2020 22:45

Show us a pic of of what you mean as it's a big market of flared now!

Flares. Like this. Bootleg isn’t used much now.

DD wears hers with heels. Like I used to - with platforms back in the 70s.

Skinny flares as sold by Zara are everywhere now too. Better examples than the Superdry ones.

I wear my flared Levi’s every summer (or at least when it’s not raining). I’ve had them for years. I like to think I’m some sort of punk-rockin’ hippie with my little Ramones tshirt on as well.

Floisme · 22/12/2020 07:14

I'd noticed people wearing them in the summer and I tried on some velvet flares from the back of the cupboard the other day, thinking they might be a Christmas outfit. But they still feel like the worst
of both worlds: too fitted on the thigh like skinnies, combined with the flappiness and rain absorbing properties of wide legs.
I've liked flares in the past and I'm sure I'll come round to them but for now, I prefer a barrel leg, which still has the advantage of feeling a bit new.

CopperPotter · 22/12/2020 07:27

These are the ones I’ve bought, pretty flattering shape

The modern ones don’t seem very flappy. DDs are flared but not like we had back in the day. The best ones are more tailored. Old ones are just not quite the same.

Thanks Percy I'll try a more current pair when I get the chance but I'm not ordering online so it'll have to wait. I'm sure that, if they're coming back, they'll be around for a while so no rush!

They're lovely but not when you're a short arse like me 😂 well I'm not even that short, 5''4, but I remember my teens, wearing Britney style low rise flared jeans with trainers and the hens being totally ragged 😂 skinnies work so much better for me.
