Smoky bonfire smell in Barbour jacket

Hoping someone can offer some advice. I stupidly wore my expensive Barbour wax jacket to a friend's garden the other evening and he had a fire pit set up. Now it stinks of wood smoke. It can't be washed or dry cleaned. Can anyone advise a tried and tested method of how I can get the smell out please?

Hoping as I am without warm coat until I can do this and with cold weather coming I'm very sad about it.

Is it wax ? You need to air it's with some febreze sprayed inside on a windy day outside .
If it's wax you can wipe it down with a damp cloth ( maybe mix something with a nice smell in the water ) .
