How would you spend £50 in John Lewis

2LittleSpeckledFrogs · 19/12/2020 13:59

Just that really.

If you had approx £50 to spend on yourself in John Lewis. Only caveat, it has to be spent on something that will last forever (or a very long time!), so not food or drinks.

What would you treat yourself to?

Following as I have a £50 JL voucher which I intend to spend on meeeeeee.

Meandyouandyouandme · 19/12/2020 14:18

Silk pillowcase?

StarlightLady · 19/12/2020 14:38

A dress.

MrsMoastyToasty · 19/12/2020 14:40

A bra. I only buy the Fantasie range and JL are a stockist.

Tomatoandbasil · 19/12/2020 14:43

Nice bedding

XmasNCTaDa · 19/12/2020 14:44

I’ve got a £50 JL voucher too. I’ve been looking at over-ear wireless headphones.

I do like the sound of a silk pillow but I’m not sure if I’d enjoy the slippery feel though?

Sonicthehedgehogg · 19/12/2020 14:46

Half of a faux fur throw for the sofa. My sister has one and it's amazing (discovered them as they had them on the beds at Champneys!). As my sofa is looking like my main place of residence for a few more months yet.... Grin

TheMandalorian · 19/12/2020 14:46

Easily.

Sonicthehedgehogg · 19/12/2020 14:47

Eurgh! Grin was NOT intended! Probably more like Envy(not envy, resigned malaise)

CountFosco · 19/12/2020 14:47

Perfume.

Who says it has to last forever?

Galvia · 19/12/2020 14:49

A SAD light alarm clock.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 19/12/2020 15:16

We got a £150 JL voucher recently and I bought:

YSL foundation - straight replacement for my usual one
Pair of pale grey barrel leg cords from Hush
Chunky lambswool jumper for DP

We didn’t have the stipulation of something that would last forever. I would have had to get the foundation anyway, I am enjoying wearing cords for WFH - cosy and comfy. DP’s jumper was heavily reduced and some of his knitwear is truly fit for the bin.

tinselfest · 19/12/2020 15:18

A vase or something cutlery related.

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 19/12/2020 15:22

I’d have to donate it to a women’s shelter as I’m boycotting.

Back in the day when I was still buying from them I would probably have gone for a couple of lipsticks, a silk scarf, a dress or maybe something for the home from Georg Jensen.

2LittleSpeckledFrogs · 19/12/2020 15:24

The lasting forever is only my stipulation. It was a gift with sort of sentimental value as came from someone who no longer has capacity to choose out a gift and won't be around much longer, so I'd like something lasting from it if that makes sense. Silly really, I suppose.

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 19/12/2020 15:25

💐 it makes perfect sense.

In that case I think I’d go for a piece of jewellery.

Luckyonetwo · 19/12/2020 15:31

A nice photo frame to put a picture of them in if it was a sentimental gift/voucher.

Anon22 · 19/12/2020 15:39

A jewellery box or stand for everyday use
Oils for an electric diffuser, I have the Esteban ones, they're a couple of years old and still have more than half remaining.
Some pyjamas
A cashmere scarf or hat
A purse
A photo frame

Or I'd second putting it towards that fake fur throw, it is lovely and very comforting. I've had mine for about 5 years now, they do them every year.

parlourpalm · 19/12/2020 15:40

Chanel vitalumiere (not the aqua)

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 19/12/2020 15:42

Oh yes a jewellery box or stand (if it would be useful to you) and a photo frame.

2LittleSpeckledFrogs · 19/12/2020 15:44

A fake fur throw does sound lovely although my stinky dog would possibly claim it 🤣 Also liking the SAD light and silk pillowcase ideas.

When I had a voucher I brought a CK bra. Loved it so much I went back and brought another

Labobo · 19/12/2020 15:49

Half a JL own brand cashmere sweater. They cost about £100 and are so soft, in beautiful colours.

meecrowahvay · 19/12/2020 15:49

I just spent my £50 voucher on a scent diffuser thing (the JL dupe of the neom one). I got the neom oils to use with it separately. It's great!

MummaBear4321 · 19/12/2020 15:57

A robert Welch knife.
