Please help!
I desperately need new skinny jeans, I only have two pairs, one of which now has holes in! The holey ones are river island molly from years and years ago and I love them as they fit so well! I bought another pair of molly last year in the same size but they are terrible, go baggy after half an hour of wear and look/feel loose.
I have had Topshop high waisted before but they went baggy around the crotch and again looked awful!
Not being able to use fitting rooms in clothing stores is rather frustrating so I'm trying to find a pair online but have no clue, please help!!
I tried various m&s last year but again I didn't like the fit of them.
I think maybe I need something with a bit of elastic to stop them going baggy when wearing?

Do I need to go down a size maybe?

I get the gape at the back, always did in the 90s as well, before low rise came in to fashion. I think it's my hip to waist ratio, I have enormous hips and a tiny waist in comparison!

Can't wait for boot cut to come in to fashion again, mum jeans make my arse look huge!

PinkDaydreams · 02/01/2021 16:33

I've seen alot of boot cuts in the shops today! Yes yes, mom jeans give me fat saggy arse too!! 😂

I used to wear hipsters years ago so going to mid and high waist jeans I'm noticing the gape which hipsters don't give. It's flippin' annoying!!!

I'm also a big fan of the Molly, but I do find the sizing inconsistent. I always wash without fabric softener which helps the stretch stay, but mine wear thin on my thighs. I recently bought some M and S Ivy skinnies and they are ok. I don't like the next ones as so expensive. Interested to see how you get on.
And I do love a skinny jean because they hug my curves in the right places ☺️, I think straight leg will make me feel old!

I went into next expecting to pay around £50 for jeans but found some for £26 which I was very surprised at! To be honest there wasn't much choice in the skinny department, they were the only ones. The rest were straight leg and bootcut. The racks were very empty so they must be waiting on deliveries. I'll update with how I get on with these next ones I have, I've bought a size 8 and measuring them up against my other river island and topshop size 10's they are the same size.

M&S Ivy jeans are my favourite skinny jeans. High waist but not so high that they are uncomfortable and they stay up around the wait and keep their shape.
I also love Levi's cropped straight leg jeans (the high waist ones)

I get so depressed reading about skinnies going out of fashion. I'm 5ft4, so not quite 'petite' enough for petite to be an option, but regular length jeans in anything other than skinny jeans are terrible.

I'm 32 and remember my teens, spent in indecently low cut bootcut/flared jeans à la Britney, probably with a thong on show and muffin top spilling over, with frayed hems from my jeans dragging on the floor as they're all made for taller people. They'll have to tear skinnies from my cold dead corpse because I will die before I repeat the fashion of my teens 😂

OP I know you've had problems with topshop but I find Jamie's to be quite good. If they're a bit loose in the crotch maybe try them on a boil wash? I've got some orson's on order to will report back when they arrive...

PinkDaydreams · 17/01/2021 21:02

Update! The next ones I bought, power stretch leggings, I ended up having to buy a size 8 and I am very impressed with them. For £26 they're great! Comfy, wash well, keep shape all day.
Ordered some of the Asda wonderfit recommended on here, I'm yet to wear them yet.
I've bought some river island molly sucky in jeans which I'm trying to decide which size to keep. The 10 are fine but I'm worried they'll do the same as my other Molly jeans and go loose after an hours wear. The 8 also feel fine but I'm worried that these will shrink in the wash and go too small! I'm really undecided which size to keep! 🙈
I haven't ordered the Uniqlo or Jack wills as I would like to see what they look like in real life before buying.

Tesco jeans are the only ones that fit me properly

cheapskatemum · 18/01/2021 00:21

I bought some New Look Haillie jeans, which I think I must have seen recommended on here. It was during the November lockdown, so ordered size 10 online. They're tight, but don't bag at the waist. I think they were £20.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 18/01/2021 00:29

M&S Ivy and Spanx do Skinny jeans

FlyingByTheSeatof · 18/01/2021 00:32

Every year people keep saying Skinnies are going out of fashion but they never will because no matter what different jeans we try nothing compares to the skinny jean.

Deathraystare · 20/01/2021 13:26

I hear you! But when you read an article and a supermodel complains of finding jeans to fit her - well how are mere mortals able to find jeans to fit!!

I am 5ft 4ins, apple shaped but legs not skinny! Skinny jeans are out and I suppose I need high waisted or jeans roll under my 'apron tum'. Looking on line but so many are still skinny jeans. I have ordered some from M&S so we will see....
