Blonde hair turned pink

I had my hair highlighted a light blonde last time I went to the hairdressers, however as I'm naturally dark, I felt it was too light. Today the hairdresser suggested she apply a toner to bring the shade down (the colour she suggested I would describe as a dark ash blonde).
Hair looked ok when I left the hairdressers - was happier with the darker shade.
When DD came home from school, she asked me why my hair was pink. In the artificial light there is definite pinkness!
What has happened? Will the toner fade? If I go back to the hairdresser, what do I ask need to do to remove the pink? Thanks

If it was just a toner, I believe it will gradually just wash out over time. You could ring the salon & ask, explain you can see a pink tone & how it can be corrected.

I have pink tinted hair... but in my case deliberately. I know mine will fade which makes me sad. Take comfort from my sadness Grin

Pink is lovely. I know it's not what you wanted but I bet it looks gorgeous

Pink fades the fastest, I can't keep mine pink. I suspect you won't have to wait long for it to fade. Washing with head and shoulders will speed it up

I washed it with head and shoulders on Sat, but haven't really noticed much of a difference yet. Will keep trying though.

I sent a message to the hairdresser on Sat morning (tried to call but not answering). No response as yet Angry

Maybe the toner was purple so made it go pink . I'm sure it will fade

it will fade...add some bicarb to the head and shoulders and it will strip it out fast...leave on for 20 mins...hair will be very dry afterwards !

Pink will fade fast so I’m sure it will be gone soon. Probably another 1-2 washes.
