Casual boots that aren't Uggs?

I'm useless at knowing what goes with things! I'm after some really warm casual ankle boots to wear on the school run etc. I like the look of Ugg boots but I know they're appalling quality and not waterproof. What should I look for instead wise Mumsnetters?

I've got some Clarks gore tex fleece lined biker boots. They're fab and go with practically everything.

I’ve recently bought these, I know what MN fashionistas might say! But they are soooo comfortable and zipper!

I've leather biker style uggs that are waterproof and amazing quality but I expect there is something equally good that is not so expensive! Saw there are lined DM's now.

Uggs are brill and great quality actually! You've just got to care for them

I wore Ugg’s for years but this year I wanted something a bit more hard wearing for the school run so I’ve got the Leonore fur lined Doc Marten Chelsea boots and they are brilliant.

I'm really liking those Sorel boots!

Fur lined Dr Martens. I really like the brown Chelsea boot style but I already have a pair of the lace ups.
