So these look like what I need - wide legged, I can get in a short leg and mostly cotton with a bit of stretch. Not too expensive.

But I seem to recall seeing a couple of negative comments on these? I am really picky about fabric and can't deal with anything not soft.

Also I'm a 14/16. Aiming to get back to the 14s post Christmas but I carry most weight on the tops of my thighs and lower tummy so typically problem areas in trousers. Small waist though. It says size down but if between sizes but I've never knowingly sized down in trousers in my life so presume I shouldn't now?

Finally are these a pull on waist? I can't see in the description but can't see any fastening in the picture either.

Thanks

Just doing a quick bounce for the morning crowd. I did find some comments last night but I also can't find any other trousers which seem to fit the bill as much.....

I bought these when S+S were still Zaggora. Think lux wide legged joggers basically. I like mine a lot and have worn them loads. I suspect sizing down is a good shout tbh.

Alternista · 15/12/2020 19:13

I’ve got some, they’re comfy and soft and generously sized BUT mine washed horribly and faded from the first wash.
Most people seem to be happy with them so I don’t know if I just got a bad pair...

HuaShan · 15/12/2020 19:55

I have some, fabric was lovely initially but I noticed pilling from where I I crossed my legs. Mine didn't wash well either. Shame, as they are very comfortable and stylish.

funtimefrank · 15/12/2020 21:27

Thanks for this. I am torn - the aim is to look less tatty so something that doesn't wash well is a bit of a no no and I'm put off by the fact you can't return for a refund for free.

Problem is I can't find an alternative I like. There are some wide legged cords on m&s but they are cropped and I don't want cropped. I'm tempted to buy the tall fit ones and see if they come up full length on short me!

I feel your pain. I’ve spent a bloody fortune trying to buy the perfect black trousers over the years!! I’m clearly an odd shape Grin
I guess I could try dying my S&S ones in the washing machine. But honestly at that price who can be fucked?

TheSilentStars · 16/12/2020 13:07

I've never had them but read a lot about how the quality is fairly standard e-commerce rubbish. (The lovely ads are nothing like the product in other words)
Have you tried Me&Em palazzo trousers? They are fabulous.

TommyKnocker · 16/12/2020 13:37

Yep, echoing other pp's, nice feel and fit but the quality isn't there. A few washes and wears and I've got a fair amount of bobbling on the inner legs. It's a shame as they are exactly what I was after, smart but comfy, I was going to say if they were cheaper I would recommend but actually I still don't want to replace my trousers so often, I don't mind paying more but only if I know they are going to last.

I've got some Monsoon trousers, not quite the same but the quality is better, although I think Monsoon is hit and miss nowadays.

funtimefrank · 16/12/2020 19:07

Ah thank you.

Really useful - I think I will hold off, shift some new year timber and see what's around.

@funtimefrank I had been looking at those S&S trousers too, but ended up with these instead from Uniqlo https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/women/bottoms/trousers-leggings-sweatpants/warm-trousers?quickView=429204]]

They're not cotton, which initially put me off, but actually, they're a nice, brushed fabric, like light-weight wool, and very soft and comfy. They've also washed well so far, being slung in the machine weekly, although time will tell. I'm buying another pair in another colour!

Hoppinggreen · 18/12/2020 20:19

There was a thread on here not long ago about their awful customer service if you need to return

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 18/12/2020 21:06

Actually, he link @Hoppinggreen pasted is the right one - those are the trousers I bought too!

Jiggy16 · 19/12/2020 07:44

I bought a pair when they were still zaggora, and I was really disappointed. They were a big spend for me and looked like the exact thing I wanted, until they showed up. My £6 asda pair were a thicker material and I just could not justify the £45 on them, so paid to have them returned. I had to chase them a number of times for my money back, the thing that made them come back to me was when I started publicly commenting on their social media. I'd say it was close to 2 months before I got my refund. Photos look great but I was really disappointed and frustrated. Still looking for the perfect pair of relaxed but stylish pair of black trousers, in a nice thick material!

Hoppinggreen · 19/12/2020 12:20

jiggy see my link above, they are really nice but comfy. Even my 15 year old approves
