Hi S&Bers.

I am after a new BB cream or similar. In Summer i use glossier skin tint, however in the winter months I feel I need a bit more.

What's good? Also, how on earth do I colour match in Covid times? Are places letting you try stuff?

I use Boots No7 BB cream for normal to dry skin in Medium. It gives me some colour as in naturally quite pale.
My skin is actually oily these days so I may change to the 'normal to oily' bb cream.

Missha signature whotsit BB cream. But it's a faff to get hold of in the palest shade (always sold out) so I'm going lighter now with Nyx tinted skin veil.

Cherrypie32 · 14/12/2020 19:52

Same as Tehmina above and have also just started using their CC

I've stopped wearing my usual work makeup since lockdown #1 started. In days when I have important video meeting I now use Code 8 Radiate BB cream. It's light, feels barely there but evens out skin time and makes my skin looks so much better.

I like their Erborian BB and CC creams - I usually wear the CC one. I find it gives me just enough coverage to make me look better without being made up.

Justnotfeelingit · 14/12/2020 22:17

Clarins detox fluid bb cream - like your skin but better. I use it all year round. It only comes in a few shades so you don’t to do an exact color match. I use shade 1 in winter, shade 2 in summer, and a mix of the two in between times.

Ponks · 14/12/2020 23:34

I also like Erborian but prefer the BB to the CC. It has more coverage and is more matte / velvety. The Cc is a bit shiny.

upsidedownroundabout · 15/12/2020 21:53

Just come on to recommend what you shouldn't get! The Bobbi brown is too thick, as is NARS. And Trinny is far too shiny and probably not enough coverage for you.

I'd be interested to try the options recommended here

I've been using Lacura CC cream from Aldi for a while and it's brilliant . Light colour in the winter , medium in summer abs I mix the shades together in between. Exactly the right amount of coverage .

Sadly I don't seem to be able to get it any longer and the BB cream is nothing like the same, not even similar, just makes my face shiny .

This website is really good:

findation.com/

You put in your shades in brands you already have and it tells you what it expects you to be in other brands. You can also email the results to you so you don't have to complete it afresh each time. I've found it really helpful during lockdown!

upsidedownroundabout · 16/12/2020 23:19

Thank you for that!

It has recommended me an Eborian BB cream that I was looking at anyway... although I'm confused on colours. The findation match said "nude" and the eborian website says "Clair". I'm very pale but yellow/neural undertones so if anyone had any idea please let me know!!

Wagsandclaws · 16/12/2020 23:28

I love it cosmetics cc cream 'your skin only better' it's soooo nkce and keeps me looking 'glowy'

ChristopherTracy · 17/12/2020 18:05

This was exactly the thread I was going to start. I am old and have spot prone skin so the worst possible combination. I am about to run out of my old hoarded last tube of Maybelline BB 8-1 cream which was fab and need an equivalent.

I will try some of these suggestions but any other ones I have tried in the past made me so spotty, I like the Maybelline as it had sal acid in.

shivermetimbers77 · 17/12/2020 18:13

I’m using Olay Seven Signs CC cream and pretty impressed.

upsidedownroundabout · 17/12/2020 18:36

@ChristopherTracy same, lots of them especially with spf make me break out as well as looking so shiny. Urgh!

Inclinedtochatter · 17/12/2020 18:50

I use Nivea tinted moisturiser. Cheap as chips and gives me a lovely glow.
