I would like to invest in a stylish/go with anything black bag. I don't think my budget will stretch to Mulberry but I'd like something better than Coach.
Any suggestions gratefully received!

Do you want brand new? Mulberry have an outlet online I think. Personally I like to buy mine 'barely used' and second hand.

I've got lots of bags and I particularly like Chloe, Saint Laurent and Gucci ( not with the logo plastered all over it - you can get some very nice subtle leather )

Also Celine, Anya Hindmarch are nice too. I've also discovered an amazing brand called Hill and Friends, she used to design for Mulberry and started up her own company, her leather is sublime the bags are usually lined with suede.

Oh and Aspinal is also amazing quality with some really beautiful designs. Hope that's enough for you to be getting on with Wink good luck in your search, I've bought some of all of the above ( preloved ) and been over the moon with them.

I'd look at second hand, The Finer Things Aberdeen, Naughty Pigeons Nest, labels Most Wanted, LuxuryLabels.co.uk - they all sell preloved designer bags usually well under retail.

I've had some bargains lately!

Yes all of the above :-) also if you use Facebook look up 'addicted to handbags' she's on Instagram too and always has lots of bags for sale at super reasonable prices - I bought my Chloe C bag from her and it was immaculate.

Thank you both! I hadn't considered second hand but its certainly given me something to think about Grin
I definitely don't want anything with a big brand plastered across it but I'd like something of good quality. I might need to stretch the budget...seems I have expensive taste, even in second hand bags 🤣

Mulberry do pretty good sales, so could be worth waiting for that. It used to start on Christmas Eve and they’d have one in the summer too. Just beware - most Mulberry bags are really heavy!

I have a couple of APC bags, quality is good and styles are classic.

Mirta is great. Handmade bags from Italy quality is as good as designer brands and prices are a lot less.

I discovered Massaccesi bags on the Parisienne's thread and am in love. The are BEAUTIFUL semi-custom bags--very high quality and discrete logo. I have bought several over the last 6 months and am so happy with the service and quality of the bags. The are much nicer than coach or similar and don't have logos or things that will date them. You choose the leather, hardware, lining, can customize straps, add pockets. The website is a little hard to navigate, but the owner Marco is so kind and helpful.
Here is the website. He usually offers a discount for first-time customers too.

My favorite is the midi-muse in octane that I have carried every day for a while now.

I have one Massaccesi bag which is great quality. I had a customer length strap made for mine . Great personal service.

There are lots of Facebook selling pages for mulberry if you search. ( mulberry must haves is one) people are very honest about the bags they are selling and the moderators of the groups would be very unlikely to let anyone sell a fake. You can get some great bags on there - sometimes people have only used a bag a few times but sell it on at much less than the normal selling price

I was introduced to Mimi berry on another thread last year and treated myself in January. I adore my bag - brilliant quality, and they offer repairs. Quite simple/classic styles in a range of colours (including black). Pleased I bought my bag when I did as they seem to have discontinued it!

What did you get from Massaccesi? I have a midi-muse that I ADORE, and I bought a zipper Selene for my children's Godmother for Christmas. She helped me so much this year and I want to spoil her. I have a minerva coming as a work bag and just adore Marco. The whole experience is so pleasant. I am so glad I found this company on that thread and hope others will give it is a try. It is less expensive that Mirta.

I have the Phoebe , bought specifically for my son’s graduation. If I was in the market for a bigger bag I would go for the Minerva too , but I have a fair few bags already! It was great that the company was saved .
