I need hair cut advice

Have booked myself in for a haircut next week and need some suggestions. I really haven’t bothered with my hair, make up etc since my twins were born 4 years ago. I’ve recently sorted out my skin (thanks Dermatica!) so that’s much better.

I currently have long hair with layers but my hair is becoming more wavy by the week and it just doesn’t work for my hair any more. I’ve always had boring long layered hair cuts and I don’t feel like they suit me but don’t know what I should have instead!

I have quite a long boxy face which is carrying some extra weight to be honest. I wear square glasses and look better in them than not I think!

I need to be able to tie my hair up as I don’t have time to style it every day and frankly I hardly know how to style my hair now it’s all wavy.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for some ideas to take? I usually tell hairdressers to do whatever they think would be best and I walk away with the same boring layers.

I would love a fringe but not sure I could pull it off!

I’m thinking maybe a straight bottom to the cut might work best with wavy hair?

I may have some colour put in next year, currently mid brown with the odd grey but not many.

For mid Brown I found caramel/honey toned highlights made my hair a bit more vibrant and look nice with waves. With wavy hair I'd avoid a fringe as so much styling and maintenance! Could you get some sort of face framing shorter layers cut to chin-ish length at the front? That gives the option to leave strands out if you're wearing it up which again softens the face.

I would love Zooey Deschanel’s fringe but not sure I have enough hair! (If I could just replace my entire head with hers that would probably be good!)

If you want to try out a fringe why don't you try out a long curtain fringe? It's low maintenance too. I think going blunt at the ends is very fashionable and if your hair is wavy enough it will look great. Only problem is if you have a long face it may elongate it even more. But you never know unless you try, remember it always grows back Smile
