Need to up the walking routines after Christmas, and the only way to do that is to have comfortable footwear.

Throw me your best recommendations for ultra comfortable walking trainers suitable for jeans, joggers or leggings, but primarily comfortable for long walks. Thanks.

I know you asked for trainers but can I recommend these walking boots.
I have had lots of walking boots and shoes in the poo ast and they have never been the most comfortable. I got these to replace some expensive leather ones I could no longer stand as they were do hard at the top and honestly the reviews are right. They are as comfy as trainers. I have done two 4 hour walks and one 3 hour walk in them (continues walking, hot thrm last week) and I have loved thrm. So comfy.

All my trainers rub my toes after a mile or so.

Brooks Addiction - so supportive and comfy. Big chunky soles but very light.

LadyEloise · 11/12/2020 21:02

Brooks- walking trainers. Recommended by orthopaedic consultant. FIL swears by his.

Skechers are now doing Arch Fit trainers. More foot support than regular Skechers.

I would get walking boots. I walk nearly every day and there's a lot of mud out there!

cyclingmad · 11/12/2020 21:18

I just got Brooks G13 for walking and running and general gym stuff and wow they are super comfortable!

New balance

Ascic gels for me, for running and walking. I always end up gently jogging if I go for a walk

Scarpa Mojitos - walking boot soles but a bit thinner and super comfy. Stylish enough ( I think) to wear around.

Milomonster · 12/12/2020 18:14

Adidas ultra boost - mine have been with me for walks all over the world and they are the best trainers I’ve ever owned. It’s like walking on air.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/12/2020 18:16

What sort of terrain will you be walking on?

nancybotwinbloom · 12/12/2020 18:18

Sketchers memory foam are
Great

I do my urban yomping in my fitflop knit trainers. I avoid the mud as best I can though.

Thatsmycupoftea, I get the rubbed toes too so go up half a size for trainers.

I found running shoes good for walking. The best ones I had were Asics support ones - I can't remember the name or number, and they were ones I'd bought accidentally thinking they were neutral. NB are pretty good and they have different widths.

Trail ones are better for winter.
