Skin marks after a facial

I had a salon skin peel facial this morning: I've been left with red marks on the sides of my face.
Not spots, more like dot sized bruises.
The therapist didn't seem concerned.
I've never had this treatment before: can anyone reassure me that this is normal?!

Was it a chemical peel? The word peel does make me think that the skin surface should be refreshed, but it should be explained to you/advised to not have any big plans for the next few days while your skin responds to the treatment.

It was a Cliniccare peel/exfoliant treatment.
