Best place for pre-loved Bags?

Plonque · 11/12/2020 12:01

I'm in the market for a new to me bag.
I love a designer brand, I've always relied on eBay but fakes are becoming ridiculously rife on there and, as pre loved is becoming more socially acceptable the places selling them seem to be growing!
I've found a few good ones but I'm just wondering if you lovely lot can suggest some more?

I know about Naughti Pidgins from a post I saw this morning, looked at their stock and love a few items.

I currently have a tan mulberry for every day which I bought new from the outlet store.
Previously I have loved monogram LV & Gucci but I think now I am leaning towards classic leather bags with not to much fussy faffing on them, if you know what I mean?

Labels Most Wanted . The owner is a Mulberry expert in the extreme.

Plonque · 11/12/2020 15:50

Thank you! I had not heard of that one so another one to add to my bookmarked list.

I have just whiled away an afternoon looking on HEWI but the only bag I really clicked with is with a new un graded/no reviews seller so I'm a bit dubious!

NPN is re-opening in January.

Labels Most Wanted is another one. The stock seems largely a bit older, though.

Wardrobe HQ has some items for sale.

You can join a relevant Facebook group for the brand(s) you’re interested in as well.

There is also Vestiare Collective (although some people have had issues. I’ve only bought through them once and it was fine).

And there’s one big US seller platform but I can’t for the life of me remember the name.

Handbag Clinic

Vestiaire?

I came on to recommend Naughtipidgins Nest. Shian who runs it is lovely and really knows her stuff. My beloved Marc Jacobs bag came from her and is a real workhorse. I've also bought a couple of Alexander Macqueen bits as well. I'm very much looking forward to her reopening in JanuaryGrin

The Handbag clinic

Another recommendation for labels most wanted. I’ve bought several bags from their and highly recommend it.

eBay blocks the fakes and I rarely see a fake on there if I am having a quick browse...gumtree and fb market place is full of fakes !

I see loads of fakes on eBay!

Tbh I personally would probably only go through LMW or NPN. I’ve not had any dealings with any fb groups so I couldn’t say, but anywhere where you’re dealing with many people there are going to be some con men & women.

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 13/12/2020 08:50

I did buy one genuine bag through eBay. But I wouldn’t do it again, I don’t think.

Totally agree . No chance of being scammed . I have bought from both and as they are businesses you have the option to return if you are not happy . Not that I ever have !!!

I have only bought from eBay after having the bags authenticated by the Mulberry experts on The Purse Forum.
Plonque · 13/12/2020 09:37

I have bought a couple of good real bags on eBay but I stick to the brands I know inside out, enough so I know if it's a fake. I have been looking on there but nothings come up yet.
I wouldn't just up and buy my first bag from a brand I'd had no experience with before.

I did spend a large portion of my Saturday night browsing bags from all the places mentioned! I also found the handbag clinic which I might use to spruce up my mulberry.
I've not really found any contenders yet, there are just so many style variations. My head is swimming!
I've found lots of beautiful bags I would buy but I think I criteria for your every day bag has to be tight. If it's not right, it'll annoy me and then I won't use it and it'll be a waste. It has to be functional.

Oh I just remembered, Mulberry are doing their own handbag exchange now, so you can buy reconditioned pre-loved/vintage Mulberry bags directly from them. I think you have to go to their flagship store though.

Arch label agency: www.archlabelagency.com/

chocolatesaltyxmaspudballs · 13/12/2020 09:50

Do you know what you're looking for? I currently have a Mulberry Antony for sale on a Mulberry site.

Plonque · 13/12/2020 10:39

Thanks ferretface, I didn't know about them! That seems a nice little gem of a find 💸

I've looked up the Antony and, unfortunately, that's not a style I'm after but could you point me in the right direction of which mulberry selling site you're using ?

chocolatesaltyxmaspudballs · 13/12/2020 11:17

No probs... there are several on FB. Look up Mulberry Buy & Sell, Mulberry Addicts.

Wagsandclaws · 14/12/2020 22:52

Try 'addicted to handbags' she's got her own Facebook group and she's on Instagram. I've bought a few things from her she is very reasonable and knows her stuff. She's always got so many gorgeous bags in!
