Help me choose a bag please

DH wants to buy me a bag for Christmas. Budget @ £1000 -1200. He was happy to buy the YSL clutch I'd stopped to look at which was considerably more. For context I'd never dream of spending this amount on a bag so just not familiar with what's out there. I've had a look online and I'd like a work sized practical bag possibly a LV Neverfull or I'd noticed that Mulberry have re-released the Alexa again. I think it was about when I last looked at expensive bags but had small children and no money. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Although she is closed until January I would suggest looking at NPN fir inspiration .
She sells the most amazing pre-loved and new designer bags

I’d choose the Mulberry Alexa is the beautiful dark green colour.

I have a work bag from Aspinal that I love, it's the large Marleybone. Fits laptop and all sorts of stuff and looks great. Have had it for a couple of years and still love it!

I've been thinking about buying a bag in your price range and looking at Mulberry but can't get over the fact that they are pretty heavy and I really need a shoulder strap for work bags

Have a look at armcandybagco com website they have preloved designer bags

@SpeckledyHen

I agree NPN is awesome. I never buy anything but pre owned for a high end bag.

I have a mulberry Alexa in a limited edition colour/finish from a few years ago. I’ve had it fixed too many times to be honest (although free). The limited edition leather wasn’t robust enough and the straps that attach the D rings to the bag snapped repeatedly. I wish I had chosen the original finish.
I agree that it is very heavy though as the thick leather adds weight. As soon as you put a bit of work tech in it it’s too heavy to use regularly.
I wanted to love it and use it for years.

Thank you so much for replying everyone! All so very helpful and so much to look at. I'll take into account what's been said about the Alexa handle. I used to buy Mulberry in my 20s , almost 30 years ago and I've heard the quality has declined.Will definitely look at NPN. Haven't bought pre-loved bags before so keen to check that out.

The Mulberry sale will start soon if that helps you any. Not sure when the December ones starts though, can’t remember if it’s before or after Xmas.
